I was thinkin about this the other day while watching the feud between LOD and NOA and I always wondered what do you think it was that made LOD such a popular team, arguably the greatest tag team of all time? They wernt the greatest ring technicians, but I was always taken in by the spiked shoulder pads, face paint, and I always loved the energy they had in the interview. I was always liked the energy that Animal had, fallowed by Hawk saying what a rush.

That and the entrance music was so bad ass...

It was the look, and the fact that they literally beat the shit out of people.

One of the greatest tag teams of all time period.

Those two could cut a fucking promo like it was nobody's business and everything they did was 100% badass. They essentially cut the same style promos as Hogan and did it as well or better. They were good enough in the ring and they had one of the best finishers of all time. Fucking loved these guys.

If you voted no, you are clearly not a wrestling fan.

Spot on with every post. These two should be in a hall of fame.

amazing tag team...seeing them beat the shit out of the Beverley Brothers and the Nasty boys in 1992 made me fall in love with wrestling

I loved these guys with a burning passion, and still do. Their theme is my ring tone!!!!!

They really were a team who didn't need a belt, or an angle to be over. They just had IT. A bit like Roddy Piper really, but in tag team form.

YAY! I'm the only one who didn't like them....lol... don't really know why..... they just never did it for me..... even back in the 80s and early 90's when I was a kid they didnt appeal to me.... looking back now, I can kind of see why..... IMO there move set was quite limited, but the Doomsday Device was a great move at the time... way ahead of its time

They still should enter the HOF and can be considered as one of the best tag teams in wrestling history.... they just didn't 'float my boat'

I was always a fan of the steamrolling brute, so two of them made them twice as awesome for me.

Honestly they were pretty great in the ring and their promos were always great (barring the drunk Hawk storyline).

And can't forget the music, fucking classic.

When you heard AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WHAT A RUSH, someone was getting hurt

When you heard the opening chords to Ironman, someone was getting hurt

Also if James Lauranitis gets drafted by the Giants, I'm wearing blue spiked shoulder pads

Does anyone have a clip of when LoD returned to Raw in 1997? That pop was epic.

I'm pretty sure it was during the ECW invasion episode.

Power and Paint. For me it was their look plus they looked dangerous with their moves. Seeing Animal press slam people and the reaction from the commentators and the crowd was immense.

I was never really interested in them to be honest. I think maybe I got into it a bit too late to really appreciate their earlier stuff (and also I was a younging). I liked them because it seemed custom to like them and their merchandise was everywhere, but overall I didn't seem to care all too much about 'em.
