Sting isn't apart of TNA now, he just does a show whenever he feels like it / whenever they need him. He's semi-retired and him and his wife are building a christian resort in CA.

The way that the WWE has started to tame down latley leads me to believe that Vince is trying to lure Sting to the WWE.
But a more logical reason to the taming down would be the FCC breathing down the WWE's neck.
