With regards to this, I think it’s only a half hour slot, so it might just be a ‘best of’ to promote TNA, although Virgin 1 and Bravo are part of the same network, so it’s possible.

For TNA, it would be a much better deal for them to be on Virgin 1 as that’s part of freeview, where for Bravo you need to pay an additional subscription. Although freeview isn’t mandatory for everyone right now, it will be very soon with the digital switch over which is currently happening. So long term, IF it were to get on Virgin long term you can pretty much guarantee that TNA would be winning in the UK ratings war.

There’s been rumours for a while that Sky want to buy the Virgin TV channels, if that were to happen I can see TNA going up for grabs for other channels, as Sky Sports holds WWE and I can’t imagine WWE allowing TNA to be on the same network.

Love the site guys, keep up the good work.

No, it's meant to be a one off special, but there's potential there.

yeah it would be some nice promotion there, 70% of british homes have freeview

You're really just a source.

You should sell your services to Ryan Clark.

Congrats Dave.

If you can't be a wrestling forum mod, may aswell settle for a wrestling journalist.

Does Virgin 1 programming get advertised in TV guides? If it doesn't then they won't be winning any TV wars.

I am watching Virgin 1 right now.

Chuck

But yeah, sounds like it could be some form of a pilot. TNA on Virgin 1 would be good for them. There are other channels I would rather see it on, but just getting on Freeview would be a step up for their ratings.

Also, means I would be able to watch some wrestling again. Thank fuck.

I think 80% is probably a stretch. Bravo 2 doesn't with the TV guides I usually get and TNA were on there for a long time.

Just checked, Virgin has about 3x the audience share of Bravo

Guys!

Update:

from the tna facebook page:

UK FANS: Virgin 1 is giving Freeview viewers and TNA fans the opportunity to watch “TNA iMPACT!” on Virgin 1 on Fridays at 21:00 staring on October 30, 2009. TNA fans can continue to watch “iMPACT!” at its regular time on Bravo on Saturdays at 21:00 with encores Sunday 21:00 on Bravo 2, Saturday 09:00 on Bravo, Saturday 19:00 on Bravo 2, Sunday 08:00 on Bravo 2 and Sunday 10:00 on Bravo 2

---

Frigging awesome!

There is no way that TNA won't beat WWE ratings now, seriously, it's been tight recently, but Virgin is avialable in so many more households.

Awesome! I can ditch my sky package now! Sweet!

Which week will they be airing? As in will the Bravo episode from the previous Saturday be repeated Friday on Virgin or will the Virgin one be the newer episode?

Either way, this is fantastic news. I can watch wrestling in bed with big bottles of cola like when I was 14 again :D

.....actually, fuck that, I'm replacing the cola with beer.

LMAO.

I would love for you to post some stats to prove this.

100% of digital viewing hardware comes with built-in, on-screen TV guides. Plus Virgin1 is in the first 25% of listed channels on any system.

You really trying to tell me the Radio fucking Times has any remote influence on ratings in England today? Behave.

I would say like 10 years ago the Radio Times might have, but not now, no way, in today's click and go society

Not in our stocking or anything I mean that was the only time we bought the thing for the TV guide.

A reminder of the fall of the North east Mining Industry, if there ever was one.

Do you need some tins of whatever food my family don't like, but have somehow aquired, like we did during the Harvest collections in primary school?

Ok,

So it looks like this could potentially be a temperary measure, until the 4th of December.

Now, IF it did monster ratings, I would hope that they would continue with it for advertising revenue. But that's purely speculation on my part

As a nation, not as a family. I do not expect you to be more than vaguely aware of the contents of my kitchen cupboards.
