Is Kane getting himself ready for a big push or even a storyline worth remembering?

IMO it seems he's in the best shape he's been for a few years. (He looked quite flabby for a while there).

Thoughts?

Peoples common opinion say that he'll get a title run at the end of his career. Estimates on how long til then?

I was thinking about Kane today. Fucking humble dude. Reportedly he turned down going over The Undertaker at WrestleMania, because he feels a younger guy should get that rub. Something like that would pretty much ensure Kane would win several more World Titles, and eventually go into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Always a guy that does right for business.

I would highly doubt it. I think he's 42 now and really hasn't been in anything big since 2004 when Undertaker went back to the deadman gimmick. As much as I would love to see Kane with the belt because he deserves it, I just don;t think that or a big storyline will happen. The only chance is if he were to put the mask back on again.

I think he'll get a short "thank you" run at some point.

At most, I see him maybe getting one more ECW title run, but I wouldn't expect to see him holding WWE or WHC gold again.

I'd still like to see him be the first man to have technically won the WWE Title, ECW Title and World Heavyweight Title. And for his Royal Rumble elimination record to stand for a long, long time.

Watching him on SmackDown!, I realised just how good this guy is at controlling a crowd. Despite being technically a heel for the last year or so, the man stood against Chris Jericho, and instantly had the crowd behind him as if he was instantly a face again. We see meaningless switches between face and heel status all the time, and often it trips guys up and they lose crowd connection all together. Not Kane.

I would actually like to see Taker and Kane battle for the World title. If the fued could be like the one they had in 97/98, it would be awesome

I think he will get a run with the big gold belt right before he hangs up his boots. He's been around a dozen or so years and he's always been a company guy, so a run at the top is well deserved.

Even if he doesn't get one last run, I still say he goes into the Hall of Fame (which would also be well deserved).

Every few months someone makes a post about how Kane is 'in the best shape of his life', or 'it looks like they're really gonna do something with him'.

Don't get your hopes up.

I think his induction into the hall of fame is pretty much garaunteed at this point. The question is of a last title run. And I honestly can't see them not giving him that one "thank you" run, as I said. He's always been one of the most loyal guys in the company, and he's always in a position on the roster where it wouldn't be out of place to see him win the title.

I don't think Kane looks nearly as in shape as he did back in, say, 2000.

Yes, but this time I hope they do it face vs. face. I don't think Taker and Kane have ever had that sort of dynamic in their matches before. The fans would almost definitely be more behind Taker, but it's one of the few matches that could send your average crowd nuts. Both guys going in as respected big men would be pretty cool.

Exactly. He's one of the few guys who can job to everyone under the sun (the guy would put over a tree stump) and still be seen as a credible threat.

Yeah, but that was nearly 10 years ago. He is starting to get on in years.

If Kane doesn't get at least a title run as a thank you or retirement gift from the WWE, then maybe at least bring back the mask for one last time. Sort of similar to how The Hurricane got his mask back but probably without the whole having to burn himself as an excuse.

Yeah, but that was nearly 10 years ago. He is starting to get on in years.

Yeah, but to say he is in the the best shape of his life is ridiculous. The best shape he's been in for a while, maybe, but not in his life.

Mr. Nerfect

Kane's so messed up that he could just put the mask on again to shut himself off from the world, and become a bad-ass again. Then he could take it off occasionally mid-match, before he Chokeslams someone to hell. Like Kurt Angle and his straps.

*sigh* I know. I was replying to Rammsteinmad. You then said that it was almost ten years ago, which is why it is ridiculous to even expect Kane to be in the best shape of his life.

Am I the only one who thinks kane is more badass without the mask? First of all, his face is scarier than the mask, secondly, the mask brings back too many memories of comedy moments like the kaneroonie.

I agree. It the eye colour that freaks me out. He needs to do more evil laughs and get back his old entrance music.

When Kane first unmasked, I totally thought he was going to win the world title. He was just so malevolent and unstoppable. They need to capture that again.

That Codebreaker Kane took off the flying clothesline attempt was fucking sick. Kane had his working boots on that night. I would not be opposed to seeing him get a short World Heavyweight Title run. Why the hell not?

Guys like Kane, Mick Foley, Owen Hart, etc. are not born every day. These guys are/were the very epitome of the word 'TEAM PLAYER'.

In many ways, Kane's gimmick/persona is highly evolved. Kane is the ONE GUY that can literally job for months on end, but can believably go out there and win a World title the next night.

Kane might be 42 years old, but that's not THAT old for the WWE. I think there's an outside chance that Kane could be given a brief transitional title run at some point.

Mr. Nerfect

I still think he should have won the World Heavyweight Title instead of The Great Khali, during that time there were a lot of injuries on SmackDown!.

Kane and Val Venis, both favourites of mine, both Freetarians, both kind of look alike.
