I love JBL. Ever since his turn into the JBL character, he was consistently one of my favourite guys to watch.

Sure, he was no masterpiece in the ring, but he got by and he was such a great heel that you wanted to tune in to see him get his ass kicked.

Truly one of the most entertaining heels in a long time.

I miss him greatly and wish he would come back.

Join CM Punk's stable or something. :shifty:

Or conversely, start one of his own.

I just wanted a pic of the guy up there as Supreme's Photobucket likes to mess up on him.

JBL gets the nod because of his outstanding mic skills.

JBL and I know he's gonna get crapped on by alot of people here but he was probably my favourite wrestler of the decade. Loved the Acolytes, loved the APA, and friggen loved JBL.

I disagree. His WCW work was pretty bad. Didn't get remotely over as World Champ. Bill Watts tried to turn him into the WCW version of the Junkyard Dog and failed miserably. Doom was alright, kinda liked Butch Reed, but his WCW wasn't too great.

No, it was never specifically stated that either wrestler featured in this Round had to be voted on based on any one particular part of their careers. *SIGH*

Seriously don't know how people can hate JBL. He was so incredibly Awesome.

Supreme Olajuwon

Well he wasn't anything special in the ring and apparently he was a huge cock to people backstage (hence why Joey Styles knocked him the FUCK OUT). So there's at least a couple reasons why people don't like him.

if we were judging up until the JBL days, i might have called a draw. but it's really not even close for me. JBL was always entertaining as a character, which made up for his in-ring work now always being amazing.

Gertner

His in ring work wasn't bad at all. He was hardly one of the worst on the roster at any given time.

JBL was a much more complete package.

JBL mostly for his post-APA split solo career. Managed to go from a lovable drunk who loves to beat up people to a hated wrestler similar in style to the Million Dollar Man when it came to making money the main part of his gimmick. His time as a commentator was also good in how well he worked with people and was less bland/stale than JR and King were becoming on Raw.

I liked both guys when they were a tag team but it seemed that once they split, Ron Simmons basically faded away while JBL rose to the heavyweight title scene.

Lock Jaw
12-22-2009, 04:09 PM
Well, Ron Simmons pretty much retired when they split. So you can't blame a retired guy for fading away.

Forgot about that part since it does explain why he was basically gone wrestling wise. "Fading away" probably was a bad choice of words but the timing of him retiring and JBL rising as a new character did occur roughly at the same time.

In terms of in-ring work, they are pretty even. JBL was the better talker and had more charisma, so I'll give it to him.
