So I'm sure most people have heard about Brink from E3 last year, I did to but I didn't care because it was just a teaser trailer with an eye and blood running down it. Today, I came across a trailer for Character Customization which I was impressed with considering it's an FPS. I checked out some actual gameplay afterwards and it looks like it's worth keeping an eye on. It's still early in development but already looks like it could work well.

It reminds me of Mirrors Edge with the free running and stuff. I heard in the customization trailer that you can play as resistance or the opressing forces. I'm not sure if that's in the actual main game or just in online play. Should be good.

Wow it's been exactly a year since I posted this thread. Anyway, new videos.

Is anyone interested in the game? I may not get in on release but I'll get it eventually, before the end of the year, if I can.

It's on my watch list. Not a guaranteed buy till the reviews are out, because it's Bethesda and probably buggy as hell.

I always thought Bathesdas bugginess was because they made the big open world RPGs like Fallout. This seems a little more linear because it's levels and not big sprawling worlds so it may not be as buggy as most Bethesda games.
I'll get it eventually unless it get awful scores across the board and from other players. Looks promising from what I've seen. I've only seen official video so that might be why.

Brink has a release date. 17th of May for the US and 20th of May for Europe. The same day L.A. Noire is released.
I can't buy both so, unless Brink turns out to be phenomenal or L.A. Noire turns out to be completey awful, I'll be getting L.A. Noire.

I'm pretty well impressed by the customisation. Just a shame you're going to spend all your time looking at a disembodied hand.

Liking the removal of one hit kills to stop people camping. I already know the body type my character will be having.

There is a special edition for sale and, on the GAME website (http://www.game.co.uk/Games/Xbox-360/Shooter-First-Person/Brink-Special-Edition-/~r354220/?s=brink&d=1z13mmv) at least, it's the same price as the standard version. The special edition comes with extra guns and customisation for your character:

It's almost a year old but I've only just seen this video. Shows you the redone character creator as well as the gun editor, a new level and gameplay.

That just means that IGN reviewed it for the people who would actually play it (young girls) and not for this guy:

Even the positive looking reviews are saying it's a game with great ideas, but horrible, horrible design.
Max the level cap in mere hours, levels that are impossible to do the final objective on unless the defense is retarded and as theirs no single player, balance is everything.

And I wish that comparison would stop being trotted out. IGN are awful for a lot more than shitty reviews that should never be compared to other games in a million light-years.

This game is surprisingly good...
There's no, 'Get kills' attitude, every game i've played, the majority of people have had headsets and it's just been all about teamwork, which I haven't really come across in multiplayer shooters for awhile. The whole, 'Kills don't mean shit' thing has worked for this game. Sure it won't last as a big title like COD/Halo/GoW but it's keeping me occupied till a new shooter arrives.
Only concerns is the story mode is piss poor, but the game is all about multiplayer...

With the whole Parkour theme, it strikes me as (possibly) having some similar mechanics to Mirrors Edge. Anyone played it who can confirm or deny?

According to my brother, you're among the lucky few. He's had nothing but medics trying to be soldiers, soldiers not sharing ammo and engineers not doing whatever they're supposed to do. No teamwork and everyone gets mauled.

Again, this is according to my brother, but it's kinda tacked on and not Mirror's Edge-like at all.
