Hey, long time reader, first time poster. Recently I've been reading threads on both the Royal Rumble's outcome as well as Edge's return, and I would like to literate my own scenario:

The Royal Rumble itself should have its usual bluster and surprise entrants (none of them being Edge), and the winner being Jericho. This would follow with Jericho wanting to be on Raw, it would give him a reason for being their other then being brought on by the guest host. Now as for the WWE championship, Randy Orton would win, most likely with the help of Cody Rhodes (since Legacy would breakdown during the Rumble with Dibiase turning face). Now this would restart Jericho's original feud from when he returned, and would even allow him to continue his “Save_Us” campaign by saying that the only way to save the sicko fans would be to get rid of the biggest parasite on Raw. They would go back and forth until their match at WrestleMania - Now there match itself should be well, I think both Jericho and Orton are capable of putting on a pretty good show. During the match the referee would get knocked out; not by anything bigger then getting sandwiched in the corner, something he can get up from it in a short amount of time. Now during the time the ref is out is when Edge would make his return, spearing Jericho, not only costing him the title, but effectively putting him back on Smackdown.
From here there are a number of different directions for the Edge/Jericho feud to go: two ways I see it happening is either with Edge being the “Savior” as a face, or Jericho joining up with CM Punk's crusade and forcing Edge to bring back the E&C connection (since I don't see Christan cleanly beating Jackson at the Rumble).

What do you guys think? I for one would seriously mark if any of this actually happened.

That would be good but it will probably be Jonathan Cena or Hunter Helmsley winning it.

So who is the face in the Orton/Jericho feud? Heel vs. heel is a scenario that I think can work, but at the grandest stage of them all? Hmm...

Fox

Jericho winning the Rumble I like. Orton vs. Jericho not so much; there's no face. WrestleMania is about heel vs. face when it comes to the main event (unless you're John Cena, in which case you might get booed anyways, despite being the "face"). Not only that, but a ref bump, run-in finish for the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania? No. I think not.

All I want for the Rumble is to see Triple H and Shawn Michaels start the thing as #1 and #2. In a perfect world, HBK costs Undertaker the World Title to Rey Mysterio and in return, Undertaker gets HBK eliminated from the Rumble, and in the following months, finally agrees to the rematch at Mania. Triple H would make it to the final four, but the winner of the 2010 Rumble would be CM Punk. Punk vs. Mysterio, HBK vs. Undertaker, and I dunno about the WWE Title, maybe a fatal 4-way with Orton, Cena, Triple H and Sheamus or some such thing.

Would Punk/Rey draw though? I guess with the Latino demographic but for a Mania title match? They should do Cena/Batista IMO.

Putting Cena in the main event would draw the 6-15 year old demographic, alongside the flustered housewives.

Punk/Rey wouldn't need to be the draw for Mania, and it definitely wouldn't be the main event. HBK/Undertaker, McMahon/Hart, and whatever they ended up doing with Batista, Cena, Orton and Triple H would be the big draws at Mania. Punk vs. Mysterio would just be a great Championship match between two guys who truly deserve to fight for that belt at WM, and it'd be a great way to break up the hoss-matches that are sure to fill the upper-card of the show.

I never realized that past main events at Mania had been 'face vs. heel', I still think something different would be a step in a fresh direction. Also, yes, I have heard Jericho use both terms.

Wasn't Low-Ki supposed to be called up to smackdown pretty soon? That puts out a Rey-Punk feud if true.

Here is how the Rumble will go I think. Some partially over underdog will come in early (think of Kofi, etc.) and stay in for quite some time. There will at some point be many more heels than faces. A group of heels will end up running the train on one of the the top faces (most likely HBK, HHH, or Kofi) and John Cena will come in and save the day / clean house on some of the heels. As for suprise entrants...I really don't think they would hold Edge from this if he is ready to go. He may not be a suprise entrant (which he should be), but I could see him as a last minute addition to the MITB and win it again if he is not in the Rumble itself. This scenario could also set up his feud with Jericho as Jericho would obviously be peeved at Edge's ability to walk between shows with his MITB and challenge him for it.

I am sure I will be completely wrong and it will just end when John Cena's music hits and then he flies in with a cape and jet pack. He picks up Mark Henry, Big Show, Khali, Kane, Legacy, Miz, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Chris Jericho, HHH, HBK, MVP, Kofi, and all of the remaining RR entrants AT THE SAME TIME in attitude adjustment position and proceeds to walk around for a second...demonstrating his kryptonite vulnerable strenth while waving his hand in front of his face before throwing them all over the top for the win.

I was hoping that the whole Undertaker/Shawn Michaels stuff was just a teaser, and that we don't actually get that match, but right now it seems more and more like it is actually going to happen. And the thing about those two, is that when they get in the ring, everything that goes after them loses momentum. That is why I have now swapped my pick for John Cena to win to Shawn Michaels.

And as alluded to on RAW, I feel that Triple H and Shawn Michaels will be the last two guys in the match, and they get a feel for how "DX implodes" goes down with the fans right there and then. My thinking is that Triple H enters the match a little earlier than Shawn Michaels, so HBK eliminates The Game, and Triple H has an "excuse."

I mean, the WWE still has Sheamus as their champion on RAW. Randy Orton could win the belt, but that leaves him who to face? Kofi Kingston? Ted DiBiase? Neither guy has been built-up to be in a WrestleMania title match right now. Sheamus retains, and gets some more credibility, while Orton then develops problems with Legacy (Triple Threat at WrestleMania). Triple H then wins a RAW Elimination Chamber to decide who challenges for the WWE Championship, while Sheamus has some sort of gimmick match defense against John Cena. Sheamus vs. Triple H is then locked in as RAW's WrestleMania main event (along with Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart).

As for Cena? I can see him eliminating Batista from the Royal Rumble, and Big Dave taking that to heart, and getting some post-elimination revenge on John Cena. While I think Batista will probably toss John Cena out himself; it would be great to give the rub to someone like The Miz. But whatever. I think this sets up Batista vs. John Cena II at WrestleMania as the big "interpromotional match."

Chris Jericho will no doubt end up facing Edge. If Edge is not ready, I have no real clue what he will do, but he could always win Money in the Bank, or something.

But yeah, I see the big matches at WrestleMania looking something like this:

World Heavyweight Championship
The Undertaker (c) vs. Shawn Michaels

WWE Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Triple H

Street Fight
Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart

RAW vs. SmackDown!
John Cena vs. Batista

Former Partners Collide
Chris Jericho vs. Edge

Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Cody Rhodes

Hair vs. Mask
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio

Vince vs Bret will only be from the sidelines, probably HHH-HBK match. I dont really see HBK-Taker 2, as all the opponents have been different in that 17-0 streak and maybe someone like Punk can take the opportunity this time. I would rather see Rey-Low Ki feud, there is really nothing that Punk can talk about Mysterio being not "straight-edged"

Rey has been suspended in the past for wellness issues. And as low as it seems, I could see the WWE bringing Eddie Guerrero's name into the feud. "Did you not learn anything from Eddie, Rey? Instead of looking at him as a warning at the corrupt lifestyle you live, you continue to abuse your body with prescription medication." It'll push a lot of fans' buttons, and Punk could even align himself with Vickie Guerrero during the whole thing, with her stating that Eddie's death left her a widow with two daughters, and Punk is preaching the right message.

That would be MEGA-HEAT -- like it or not. After WrestleMania, I could see Rey Mysterio teaming with Kaval to face CM Punk & Luke Gallows, only for that to be how they start the Mysterio/Kaval feud (Low Ki kicks Rey in the head during one of their matches, turning on Rey).

I also feel that the WWE will do Vince vs. Bret. There is SOOOO much money in it, and they will work a match that is safe for Bret (it'll probably be a Street Fight, or something, and Bret will destroy Vince). The great Rob foretold Bret working some sort of specialised bout to get some buys.

Lol ya! But it might as well have been two different people given the change in character persona.. Also agreed with Noid on that Rey Mysterio thing, but with Jeff Hardy it was open. With Rey, he still denies it as far as I remember. Would be interesting if Rey would be open to that idea let alone get Eddie into that!

All these dream scenarios are silly. It's 99.9999% going to be either Cena, Triple H or Michaels that wins the 2010 Royal Rumble from Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia

The Franchise

HBK: The favorite to win. Wins the Rumble, faces Taker at WM.
Cena: Could win but he's been booked really strong the last RAW or two so I dunno
HHH: Always a contender but I don't think he will win. He will either eliminate Shawn and then get eliminated by probably the eventual winner setting up HBK/HHH if that is their plan.
Batista: Doubt it but could be a possiblity. Unlikely because he's a heel and if he challenged RAW's Title he'd face either Sheamus or Orton and if he challenged SD we would get Taker/Tista which has been done to death.
Jericho: Would be nice but he's been losing to mid-carders on Smackdown

Outside shots would be Punk and Edge if he is truly going to return. If Orton loses to Sheamus I would like to see him take Cody Rhodes spot in the Rumble ala Angle did to Nunzio in 2005 and get eliminated by Ted setting up Orton/DiBiase at WM.
