I've had my 360 a few months and it just got pwned by the open tray problem.

Who knows a fix for this? I don't want to have to send it in and wait 29327329732 weeks.

Is it like both of mine? They both act like they haven't shut properly a lot of the time so I have to do an open/close cycle u til the tray kinda sticks.

Doesn't read any discs. You put in any game and it just reads, "Open Tray." That and the red ring are most common problems I see them returned on at my store. It doesn't have the new chip so I'm convinced that its fucked but I was wondering if anyone heard of a fix.

Open the drive. Then -push- the drive in as if doing it manually without the button.

Might work.

I have a similar problem to this. My drive doesn't open all the way so if I'm not fast (sometimes it slips my mind that this problem exists) the disk will get eaten at an angle. Have to remember to pull it out all the way.

Disc Read Error is likely on its way. Have you tried cleaning it at least?

This just goes to show you how cheap Microsoft is at building its game systems, they cut corners etc, Then we are the ones to pay the price, then they expect us to pay more to fix the problem when we have to send it in for repairs. This is most certainly corperate america, screw the little man.

Yeah, no go. I'm just going to have to suck it up and send it in.

Whatever. Sucks for you. I still have my unit I bought launch day. Got the red ring a while back and they had it back to me in 8 days. Same unit, works like a champ.

Yeah, damn Microsoft for DREs, which are exclusive to the 360!
