Surprised that Up got a best picture nomination. Pretty obvious that its gonna win animated feature with that in mind.

Two Best Picture nominees at this years Oscars ended with MECH BATTLES

Jeritron
02-03-2010, 12:08 AM
Let that sink in.

I support the 10 picture nomination system, if only for it's ability to showcase more Mech Battles at the Academy Awards

Probly the greatest moment in Precious.

For some reason I feel like Avatar is gonna take best picture.

After all, Titanic won it....

If they had stuck to the original five movie format I think the list would have been:
Avatar
The Blind Side
The Hurt Locker
Precious
Up in the Air

Precious better not win. I don't need to see disgustingly obese people on my TV.

Droford

I cant wait for this:

And the Oscar for best picture goes to..

"Up..(WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)..in the Air (BOOS)"

Surprised that Up got a best picture nomination. Pretty obvious that its gonna win animated feature with
that in mind.

What Ive heard is that people who would vote for it as best animated picture won't vote it for best picture and vice versa, so its vote will likely get split both ways and not win either. Up should win best Animated but I would take Coraline as well.

Waltz is a lock for Supporting Actor. Would love to see Tarantino win best director and/or Screenplay as IB has no chance of winning best picture.

Triple A

Fucking horrible.

This is probably the worst year of nominees I can remember.

Droford
02-04-2010, 05:37 PM
Fucking horrible.

This is probably the worst year of nominees I can remember.

Which is funny because this is a rare year where Ive seen at least a handful of the movies involved, but fits well with the "2009 was the worst year in movie history" theme going on.

Droford
03-07-2010, 09:14 PM
Was happy Waltz won. Up won for Best Animated which I can deal with, I guess.

Blitz
03-07-2010, 09:16 PM

Why is Lenny Kravitz at every award show?

Droford
03-07-2010, 10:05 PM

Jeritron
03-07-2010, 10:27 PM
except for the brief shot of Twilight. Not just because I hate Twilight, but does it really fall into the horror category?

Droford
03-07-2010, 10:29 PM
except for the brief shot of Twilight. Not just because I hate Twilight, but does it really fall into the horror category?
It was included in the vampires portion, because usually vampires are scary.

Jeritron
03-07-2010, 10:34 PM
I know that. Just seemed out of place, but it's obviously because it's vampires and they're trying to appeal to the masses.

What I'm saying is, just because a movie contains horror mainstays doesn't make it a horror movie. There weren't any shots from Ghostbusters and the like.

Then again, there was a shot from Beetlejuice and Little Shop of Horrors. Pretty sure those were just to get Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin in though.

Doesn't matter. Just waxing horror
