Nicks has 2 years left on his deal too, so the Giants probably want to lock him up too. The players have said that they want to keep the core of the team together, but with the cap situation the way it is the players will probably have to be willing to take a little bit less than they could get on the open market.

Thankfully, JPP has said that he wants to play out his rookie contract (3 years left) and not further complicate the cap.
