NFL is really weird in that teams can pretty much negotiate a contract with a player before the free agent period officially starts, at which point it's formally announced. That's why there's always a huge flurry of movement the second the free agent period opens.

Manningham had said in a radio interview yesterday that he was 75% sure he was gone because he wanted more money and wanted the ball to be thrown his way more. Then he added in that the Giants were unlikely to repeat and, while repeating in the NFL is extremely hard, it seemed like an unnecessarily dickish thing to say. Going forward, I don't think the Giants will have much of a problem replacing him anyway. I've got a really good feeling about Jerrel Jernigan. Think he could be a real weapon in the slot, and the Giants have had a tendency to see an explosion in productivity from guys in their sophomore season.</font>

Since he's pretty much the reason they won the Superbowl with that amazing catch he's allowed to shit on the team if they decide they don't need him. He was also vastly underpaid along with all of their receivers. When the 8 mil a year QB is throwing to 500k receivers there is gonna be animosity.

ESPN is reporting the Rams will be trading out of their #2 spot in the draft saying they are confident in staying with Sam Bradford as their QB.

So far the Browns (#4 pick), Redskins (#6 pick) and Dolphins (#8 pick) are in trade discussions with the Rams wanting at least something similar to what the Chargers did in 2004 involving their Eli Manning pick as a starter to any deal.
