RP 06-21-2008 11:58 PM

how a judge managed to score the fight in favor of Tanner is beyond me.

Kris P Lettus 06-22-2008 01:44 AM

Why are they still calling the heavyweight championship the "interim" hwc??

Is Couture supposed to come back??

Reavant 06-22-2008 04:02 AM

hes still an employee technically and still contracted under the UFC and hasnt been stripped

Rob 06-22-2008 01:58 PM

CB Dolloway is a fucking homo. Can't stand his fucking attitude, his top lip or the fact he got beat by the same finish TWICE by a fighter with ZERO pro experience and then complains how he didn't tap but it was fucking clear as bright blue sky on a summers day that he did.

Evan Tanner has nothing left now. He needs to retire. Kendall is another stupid fucker though. He was calling him washed up before the fight. Good job buddy! You just admitted you beat a washed up fighter. Talk about putting yourself down.

James Steele 06-22-2008 02:20 PM

I am glad I'm not the only one who can't stand CB.

Same here. I didn't think Amir would beat him again but I was so fucking glad he was able to do it.....and with the same technique as well.

Also, Matthew Riddle looked really good last night. I'm interested in seeing how he progresses.

James Steele 06-22-2008 02:31 PM

I wonder how CB didn't think that would be considered a tap.

Rob 06-22-2008 03:02 PM

He tried to lie his way out of it obviously. Good job they never gave him a mic or he would embarrass himself further. Beaten by the same finish TWICE :D This made me soooo happy. I actually popped for Amir too. Wish him all the luck in the world. CB shouldn't have even been fighting this fight so justice was somewhat done.

Innovator 06-22-2008 04:04 PM

Stevie Wonder saw CB tap last night, what an idiot

RP 06-22-2008 04:26 PM

Looked like he thought he was gunna get his arm broke, so insta tapped, but Amir didnt have that arm bent back at all.

I didnt watch any of this seasons Ultimate Fighter, but it seemed to me like UFC created a Forrest Griffin clone. They seem like the exact same person. Probably fixed.

Terra Ryzin 06-22-2008 09:56 PM

soooo pumped that amir won. cant stand cb and his cocky attitude and as rob said is ugly upper lip! in a post fight interview he did admit to tapping though, said he was more shocked in himself blah blah.

my hat goes off to tanner, he is a warrior. if this is the end for him he went out on top even in a loss, battled to the end.

riddle was pretty impressive, considering his age and inexperiance he will be interesting to follow. for his next fight id throw him in with someone like cote.

RP 06-23-2008 12:27 AM

yah Riddle looks like he has a very bright future.

Rob 06-23-2008 12:48 PM

Amir might be my new favourite fighter now.

Destor 06-23-2008 01:43 PM

So what did that big announcement turn out to be?

Destor 06-23-2008 01:44 PM

While I'm in here, Hulk Hogan thinks MMA is a work, anyone's thoughts on this? Dave Meltzer seems to think MMA is just like prowrestling as well...and I have no idea why....

Destor 06-23-2008 01:45 PM

Total bs of course, just want to here some opinion on it.

Stickman 06-23-2008 02:05 PM

Am I the only one who found the Finale event kind of boring? No 'great' fights. The main event was lackluster. I dunno, maybe I was in a bad mood when watching.

Where has Dave Meltzer said this? He write for Yahoo's MMA section. I'm pretty sure he wouldnt have a job if thats what he honestly thought. Its not a work, but that Kimbo Slice fight was a huge work.

I know they can always change their minds, but I remember hearing that the last deal with Spike called for TUF seasons throughout the life of the contract. Didnt they talk about cutting down to one TUF season per year and then adding some new live fight program?

If they go this route, I think it would be a wise move. I would want to keep some version of TUF just because its been a staple now for years in the UFC. But I also think that they cant keep doing two shows a year and keep it interesting.

Not sure how a live weekly fight show would work logistically, but it would seem like a good way to get these lower level guys more exposure outside undercards of PPVs.

Meltzer says it's shoot version of pro wrestling because it is everything a real pro wrestling match would be and they book better programs and stories and hype for shows. Hogan thinks it's a work. Hogan is an idiot.

Reavant 06-23-2008 06:44 PM

Dont get me started on Hogan. I absolutly HATE this man. Ive met him and he is the scum of the earth and probably the most ignorant as well.

Also, I'll break some other news.

The next UK card is planned for October 18 in Birmingham at the NIA.

Card is planned as...

Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami
Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin
Tyson Griffin vs. Clay Guida

I'm very happy about all of this.

You've been getting some bad info

Reavant 06-25-2008 08:20 AM

Rob, I think the guy that gives you information is one of the guys that the UFC feeds bullshit on purpose so that noone really knows whats up

To be fair, I heard the same thing from someone else too but then they booked the July 19 show out of nowhere and thinks went to shit. Also heard Franklin wants nothing to do with Dan Henderson.

Reavant 06-25-2008 08:48 AM

haha thats probably true about franklin... he often comes accross as quite the vagoin

Innovator 06-25-2008 10:33 AM

Why would Franklin want to fight him? He'd get worked for 3 rounds, possibly KOd

Rob 06-25-2008 11:00 AM

Heard he is fighting Matt Hamill at 205 next.

Reavant 06-25-2008 01:37 PM

oh nice

Danny Electric 06-25-2008 07:24 PM

so no birmingham show :(

Rob 06-25-2008 07:37 PM

Yeah there is a Birmingham show. October 18. Was meant to be the NIA but I think it's gonna be the NEC.

Danny Electric 06-25-2008 07:39 PM

cool, any idea on when tickets will go on sale?

Rob 06-25-2008 08:45 PM

About 4 weeks I think. Don't quote me on this though.

There's some sort of announcement today too. Probably to do with the October show. If you're in Britain, Setanta around 7pm - check it.

Rob 06-26-2008 04:31 PM

October 18 - Birmingham NIA (result, right off broad street) and Bisping vs. Leben is signed.

Danny Electric 06-26-2008 08:17 PM

Nice one, my brother lives opposite the NIA, and I only live a bus ride away,
