JBL announced he's stepping down as one of the announcers for Smackdown but won't be entirely leaving the WWE.

Reason related to his non-WWE projects.

Michael Cole is a legend. I loved JBL's first commentary run, this one sucked.

Turns out the reason JBL is stepping down is due to his contract expiring soon and not willing to sign a new one unless they gave him the terms he wanted.

I wish WWE would have publicly fired and shamed him instead.

JBL is one of the best announcers they have so him leaving hurts the Smackdown crew. Phillips is alright but Saxton is awful and plays a pussy. Wouldn't be opposed to Mauro returning but him being a bitch I just don't like him as much as before.

Sounds to me like someone is quietly getting pushed out now that the dust has settled.

It'll be a while before Mauro ends up back on Smackdown. Gotta try to make it look like he isn't there already for other reasons.

Doubt Mauro ever goes back to Smackdown (or RAW) without Triple H putting in similar strict restrictions to those who caused him problems. JBL wasn't allowed to be at the PC nor arenas on the days Mauro was there.

Wasn't just JBL who was bullying him since Vince and Kevin Dunn were also reported to have played a big role in Mauro's previous mental problems. At least one of those two are always at shows and Dunn's untouchable till Vince is gone.
