Impact tonight

I really enjoyed the show.

What I think is absolutely awesome, is how they do the "reality TV" pre match words from a wrestler. I love that. Makes the show real again.

I don't know who is doing it, but, the show is starting to feel like a legit competition.

I also really enjoy ReAction as a "behind the scenes" recap. It helps to draw you into their storyline.

Massive kudos to TNA tonight.

BY FAR The best wrestling show on this week. The elimination tag match was good. Glad to see Kendrick getting some air time. I'm actually intrigued as to who "they" are. I mean,it's their biggest PPV of the year right? It's gotta be something big. I like the fact that on reaction they use big boy curse words and simply bleep them out. They should bring that style to Impact more. If WWE is PG,TNA should try their best to be TVMA. The Knockouts had what wwe divas have forgotten about...time to wrestle. It was an ok match too. The main event tag set up the ppv matches very well. MCMG and LB had the best segment of the night. TNA is killing the competition in tag teams and women's wrestling. EV 2.0 has been trimmed down to almost all tna guys except for Sabu. It was ONE last stand for the others which is good. I give Impact! a 7 out of 10 this week.

Hadn't seen TNA in a couple of weeks, but the show was okay. I think they should have saved Tara's reveal for PPV, but I wasn't really surprised they didn't. I like the final four for the tourney. I like what Fortune is doing (though I'm kinda over the EV2 guys at this point). I like Nash & Sting/Jarrett (and now Joe).

One little thing really bugged me, though, and made me disagree with you (AJ Hayes) that it feels like real competition:

They cut the first segment of the show with a commercial, while Abyss was still cutting his promo. Now that's not to say I "missed out" on a good promo (I hate that Abyss cuts them), but it shouldn't have been cut there. It made the show seem disorganized, like they looked at the clock and went: "Oh crap, we didn't time this segment right."

This is something that happens often with their live shows (which makes me worry for the next one on Oct 7).

screech 09-03-2010 12:13 AM

I did enjoy reaction, but one other thing that bothered me during iMPACT! was that they showed a recap of a previous episode. I know that it was to explain the RVD thing, but they shouldn't have to air recaps on iMPACT! if they have a whole show pretty much dedicated to them.

Not a terrible show, but they don't quite look like legit competition in my opinion.

Steveviscious89 09-03-2010 10:35 AM

Well at least we hope that the commercial break was an accident. I know Bischoff knows better than to do something like that, because it breaks the continuity of what's going on. I've always had an issue with them doing that all the time.

YoungFlyFlashy 09-03-2010 10:43 AM

Yes TNA is getting a lot better!

There's only one person who could be telling Abyss what to do:

Fantastic show... By far better than WWE this week... The 900th episode in my opinion, blew chunks...

LewisTheTruest 09-03-2010 12:16 PM

Good to see some positive TNA ReACTIONs...
I'll go now.

I think they did it on purpose to show the rest of the footage on reaction. They've cut a few things off early as of late,I think it's to garner more interest in that show. Which if it's true,is ok. A little sloppy, but ok.

The Pope 09-03-2010 01:03 PM

I like ReAction, but I think it's too long. Maybe they should cut it down to 30 minutes.

This isn't a new concept for TNA. They have been doing abrupt commercial breaks and show endings for a while.

As I said, it makes the show look super disorganized (and not in the RAW "we have no authority figure to keep order" way). It kills the flow of the program and makes people more confused than interested.

Cliffhanger endings are one thing, but that is definitely not what they're doing.

I agree with this.

Wolfe and Magnus are amazing on da mic.

Also, Abyss doesnt suck that bad anymore. Good Impact.

Next Big Thing 09-04-2010 12:14 PM

I don't know, maybe I'm nitpicking but it doesn't seem like they're competition yet. Maybe for Superstars, but not Raw or Smackdown.

1) Abyss is supposed to be this monster that everyone fears/ hates because of what he did to RVD. He comes out with "Janice," but for some reason leaves it outside. Then, the "monster" hits the ring and everyone there seemed really nonchalant about it. I compare that to when Kane debuted and how the guys in the ring reacted and how the commentary built him up and Abyss just doesn't compare.

2) The Knockouts divison basically features 3 women now and that match was the shittiest thing I've seen from them in a while. It looked like a Divas match.

3) The promo between Hogan and the Fatal Four was retarded. Hogan said something about them needing to team together so TNA could see who was worthy of being champion... damn, I thought that was what the tournament was for.

4) Stop promising stupid ass surprises every other week.

Other than that, TNA Reaction and all the backstage stuff is brilliant. I also like the angle with Jarrett, Nash, and Sting where you have the old guard wanting to step aside versus the old guard that isn't ready to give it up. Just keep Hogan out of it.

I do like Reaction and the way the backstage stuff is done.

TNA has gotten better but I dont think it's because of Hogan like he tries to take credit for. The segment between MCMG and London Brawling (Wolfe and Magnus) was amazing. By far the most entertaining thing I've seen form TNA or WWE in a long time.

Agreed. For once I paid attention to what they were saying instead of muting the TV and coming up with my own voice overs.

Johnny McNasty 09-04-2010 04:30 PM

Agree with the sloppiness of Abyss's promo being cut off by a commercial break. They didn't even recap what happened during the break, which I thought was stupid. Abyss is starting to irritate me less and less each week, so that is a good thing.

Still love Anderson. He is golden.

The Knockouts need to be more involved with the show. I remember there use to be multiple KO story lines going on at once, now where lucky to get 1 match or 1 segment with the gals. Does Reaction usually have some KO action? Not a fan of Tara either, but will see.

Steven Richards getting a win over Abyss is awesome, hope he is allowed to build on it.

A.J.'s promo was pretty good. Love that Flair isn't always doing the talking for the group, and is letting the young guys get their mic time.

Loving the Jarret vs Wolfpac angle. Good match between Sting and Jarrett.

Excellent excellent promo between London Brawling and MCMG. Loving this pairing of Magnus and Desmond more and more every time I see them together. The way TNA has handled MCMG winning their first TNA tag titles has been superbly done so far.

Both tag matches at the end of the show where good, and I enjoyed the brawl to end the show. All in all an really good episode of Impact throughout which is rare of them.
