More detailed
SPOILER: show
Dark Match: Xavier Woods (formerly Consequences Creed in TNA) beat Dean Ambrose. Ambrose was very popular.

Triple H came out and cut a promo. Hunter thanked Full Sail for use of their facilities and said the first episode will air in more than 60 countries. (No date was given.)

Jim Ross and William Regal were introduced on commentary. JR introduced the new GM of NXT, Dusty Rhodes.

(1) Bo Dallas (Rotundo) beat Rick Victor with a spear.

(2) The Ascension (Connor O’Brian & Kenneth Cameron) beat C.J. Parker & Mike Dalton in a squash tag match. Ascension had an epic entrance and were impressive.

Damien Sandow refused to fight Jason Jordan. It was the same promo from his Smackdown appearances. Damien was over as a heel; funny stuff.

(3) Tyson Kidd beat Michael McGillicutty via submission. Great match that captivated the crowd and had plenty of nearfalls. Kidd won with a leg choke.

After a brief intermission, a video aired and they shot the crowd to lead into what can be assumed to be the second episode.

EPISODE #2 TAPING

(1) Seth Rollins (formerly Tyler Black) beat Jiro. This was essentially a squash. Rollins cut a promo promising to take NXT, WWE, and the world by storm.

(2) Jinder Mahal beat Jason Jordan via submission with the Camel Clutch. Boring match as indicated by the crowd chants.

(3) Leo Kruger beat Aiden English. Quick and effective establishing Aiden as a face and Kruger as a heel. Post-match, Leo talked about himself on the mic, calling himself the LEO (Lion) of NXT. So, watch out.

(4) Richie Steamboat beat Rick Victor with a big lariat. Richie wrestles a lot like his dad, Ricky Steamboat, who was ringside watching. Richie gave him a shout-out after the match.

(5) Antonio Cesaro beat Dante Dash. Afterward, Aksana declared, “Antonio is my lover!”

(6) Derrick Bateman beat Johnny Curtis. Comedy match with lots of running around.

End of episode. On to Superstar Showdown or the third NXT taping. It wasn’t clear.

EPISODE #3 AND #4 TAPINGS

Jim Ross remained on for this taping.

(1) WWE tag champion R-Truth beat Epico. Fun match. Truth won with the Little Jimmy.

(2) Sofia Cortez (Ivelise from Tough Enough) beat Paige.

(3) Seth Rollins beat Camacho (w/Hunico) after a standing foot stomp. Heels attacked Rollins post-match until Bo Davis made the save. Of note, Rollins did not use his FCW Hvt. Title at either taping.

(4) FCW tag champions Jake Carter & Corey Graves beat C.J. Parker & Nick Rogers. Again, the titles were not mentioned.

(5) Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero) beat Mike Dalton. Due to Hero’s long beard, a “Let’s Go Jesus” chant caught on loudly. Post-match, Ohno said he knocks people out and when people see him, they say, “Oh no!”

Leo Kruger came out again and the audience sighed. People were leaving at this point due to not knowing much of the talent. A whole section became spotty and empty. A “We Want Sheamus” chant broke out.

(6) Richie Steamboat beat Leo Kruger. The match ended abruptly after Richie hit a nasty gusher. Post-match, Kruger attacked Richie to good heat. Richie was carried out.

(7) Jinder Mahal beat Derrick Bateman via submission with the Camel Clutch. Jinder got really good shine tonight. He reapplied his finisher after the match until refs separated them.

Byron Saxton is off the booth and now Jack Russo and William Regal have joined Ross.

(8) Ascension beat The Usos. Wow, that’s an upset. It’s not clear how many episodes they’re up to now, but this is dragging badly, and not because of the wrestling.

(9) Bray Wyatt beat Aiden English. Husky Harris’s new act is fantastic.

(10) Hunico & Camacho & Michael McGillicutty beat Tyson Kidd & Seth Rollins & Bo Dallas in a six-man tag match. McG avenged his loss against Kidd from earlier in the taping.

(11) World Hvt. champion Sheamus beat Alberto Del Rio to retain the World Hvt. Title. Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick in a good house show-style title match.

That was the end of the taping. They announced they will return next month after taping a month’s worth of NXT in one night.

Ermaximus 05-18-2012 10:28 AM

With this many matches, does it mean that they are going to make NXT run longer?

#BROKEN Hasney 05-18-2012 10:30 AM

I reckon they'll pick and choose some matches. Gotta make room for that Raw Rebound after all and I'm assuming there will be some backstage stuff filmed separate, or the GM role is kinda pointless.

At least for markets where it's actually on TV anyway as the 1 hour will be unable to be extended there. They might do an NXT Uncut on wwe.com or something though.

Ermaximus 05-18-2012 10:31 AM

I could see them doing that. I just hope Steamboat gets tv time.

Mr. Nerfect 05-18-2012 08:17 PM

Sounds like FCW, just televised to a larger audience. I'm actually somewhat glad about that, and will give NXT a chance to get into a groove. I'm really curious to see how this all turns out.

It kind of seems like another wrestling promotion. Maybe WWE could have the balls to start an "off-brand." I would watch it.

el bobbo 05-18-2012 08:36 PM

I am watching Smackdown right now and it is way more compelling than that POS Raw we got on Monday.

Some of the images of the new set were recently uploaded by people who went there. Has a small indy type feel to it.

<font color=goldenrod>So uhhhh....according to the front page, this is only going to be airing internationally. :-\ No plans set in stone yet to air it in the US. And JR says that if it does air here, it probably won't be online. Here's to hoping it ends up on YouTube.

My personal hope is that they just continue on with the current NXT on WWE.com for now...really would find it hard to believe that they wouldn't at least mention that the show was going away. Then once they secure a TV deal for the new NXT they can transition.</font>

Also, they're going to run into the ROH problem. Mainly that taping so many shows at once is going to burn out the crowd.

Not as if the current format is delivering any kind of crowd reaction. Just watching this week's show, virtually no reaction to anything. :-\

Wait... so is it going to continue online or not? I'm confused. Will there be NXT this week!? FREAKING OUT OVER HERE!!!

Yeah, I always kinda chuckle when Matt Striker casually tries to explain what's been going on on the show to the crowd at the beginning of the episode because no one knows.

I would really love it if Kassius Ohno started wrestling as "Jesus Christ."

Kinda excited to see Bray Wyatt.

I'm a huge fan for Sofia Cortez. I'm really glad they picked her up. I wish they would sign Martin Caucus or whatever his name was, though.

VSG 06-14-2012 09:32 PM

Reminder that the new set of tapings is going on right now as we speak. Results in here soon.

I'd like to remind you all that Vince complained when WCW went to places like Fort Lauderdale and other party college campuses during the Monday Night Wars.

Far from it. My class of 100 had 5 girls in it. We had to go to UCF (University of Central Florida) or downtown Orlando to find anything even relatively like partying. We also had classes at 1AM sometimes, and when we weren't in class, we were making side projects on our own (everyone wants to be Martin Scorcese and what not). Lots of pot heads and drug addicts, but I wouldn't call it a "party school." It's really the perfect place for a company like WWE to set up shop. WWE gets free labor (it's mostly crewed by students who want "WWE NXT" on their resume) and Full Sail gets an even larger advertisement by opening up to the WWE audience.

And my friend worked the camera team again. FUCKING HATE HIM SO MUCH. He said Triple H put him in a headlock last taping.:rant::rant:

Results are out!

SPOILER: show

WWE re-organized the arena a bit compared to the first taping at Full Sail. The announce table is now positioned underneath the elevated hard camera with an LED screen backdrop. They now only have two floor rows on each side of the ring in order to fill up more space in the risers, which have also been expanded for higher capacity. Smart moves considering the line out the door was much longer than last time.

Triple H walked out in the arena to no music and walked around in the crowd thanking the fans ringside for attending. Awesome thing to do!

World Hvt. champion Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre and Sin Cara vs. Hunico were announced for the taping.

Dark Match: Xavier Woods beat FCW tag champ Corey Graves with a Shining Wizard. Quick match. The crowd was hot for Woods, the former Consequences Creed in TNA.

First NXT episode taping

Out came William Regal and Byron Saxton for commentary. Regal got a huge ovation from the male fans.

(1) Camacho (w/Hunico) beat Tyson Kidd with a DDT after Michael McGillicutty ran in as a distraction. Good showing for Camacho, and Kidd was very over.

(2) Bray Wyatt (former Husky Harris) beat Aiden English with an inverted neckbreaker. Bray was popular with the males and ominously sang on the way to the ring. Epic gimmick.

Jim Ross came to ringside for commentary.

(3) Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil & Darren Young) beat the Usos. Formula tag match, but entertaining and surprisingly long. The PT players got good crowd heat and the Usos were popular also.

End of episode #1, apparently. JR has left the building. Ross returned later.

Second NXT episode taping

(1) Tamina beat Kaitlyn. More competitive than your average Divas match and Kaitlyn looked stunning in-person.

(2) Jinder Mahal squashed Percy Watson after a Camel Clutch. He re-applied his finisher after the match to boos.

(3) Leo Kruger beat Richie Steamboat. Leo rolled through Richie’s cross-body and grabbed the ropes to score a dirty pin.

(4) Justin Gabriel beat Heath Slater with a moonsault. Match of the night thus far. Slater had the crowd in a chorus of boos.

End of episode #2.

Dark Match: Sin Cara beat Hunico (w/Camacho) with a top-rope armdrag. Fun, fast-paced action.

Third NXT episode taping

(1) Johnny Curtis & Michael McGillicutty beat Bo Dallas & Derrick Bateman. It was all right. I was hoping to see Bo in singles action.

(2) Sofia Cortez beat Natalya via count-out. Natalya refused to compete and turned heel on Cortez after the match. She beat her down and applied the Sharpshooter. Sofia tripped both entering and exiting the arena.

(3) The Ascension (Connor O’Brian & Kenneth Cameron) squashed Garrett Dylan & Dante Dash.

(4) Drew McIntyre beat Seth Rollins (Tyler Black). Awesome! This match was a great mix of athleticism and power moves. The crowd was hot for it. Drew won with Future Shock.

End of episode #3.

Fourth NXT episode taping

(1) Raquel Diaz beat Paige. Paige got a huge ovation from the males.

(2) Antonio Cesaro beat Alex Riley to end the TV taping. The episode lines were blurred at some point.

Also taped for TV: World Hvt. champion Sheamus beat Drew McIntyre. Drew dominated, but Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick for the win. It seemed like this was taped for a future episode since Ross and Regal remained at the commentary table.

We got Johnny Curtis

Not sure if it's accurate as it was on Wikipedia and can't find it on wwe.com

WWE.com revealed on Wednesday, June 13 that the new version of NXT will be made available online via WWE.com and YouTube beginning on Wednesday, June 20 when WWE will begin airing the episodes they taped at Full Sail University on May 17.

Ultra Mantis 06-16-2012 06:36 PM

I'm guessing they only used Johnny Curtis once because he's going to be busy working every Raw and Smackdown until Money In The Bank.

Mr. Nerfect 06-17-2012 07:57 AM

Seems more like the current NXT than the first set of tapings. It'll be interesting to see how they put them together. Michael McGillicutty seems to begin a feud with Tyson Kidd at the start of the tapings, but it seems dropped by the end of the show, for example. There was a Michael McGillicutty vs. Tyson Kidd match taped at the first set, though. Maybe that will be thrown in there somewhere?

This is important, because it means that there have been two Johnny Curtis matches taped for NXT now.

VSG 06-21-2012 03:36 PM

Ok ok here you are. Ignore the german intro.

Asmo 06-22-2012 03:47 AM

Saw the whole show. My 2 Paise:

- Stage Design: I miss the yellow ropes. But the venue & stage design is perfect. Intimate, house-show feel. I don't miss the jib / moving wide camera though. The ramp & the entrance-tron are great to have.

- The New Theme Song: Its by Coheed & Cambria, right? Gets irritating to listen to as the episode goes by.

- Promo 1 / Match 1: Bo Rotundo: The only thing i got out of the promo, the match and the post-match interview was that Bo's got a great Colgate smile. The spear came out of nowhere, and didn't look as if it had much impact. Weak finishing move.

- Promos: Seth Rollins: Good intensity, although Rollins doesn't exude charisma like the young Punk did. Am i excited to watch him judging by the promo? No. As Gertner would say, he came across as another 'vanilla midget', who 'will be the future'.

- Promos: Bray Wyatt: Excellent gimmick. He finally seems to be owning the gimmick, and the promo put him, the personality, and his ferocity over. Intrigued, to say the least.

- Promos & Match 2: The Ascension: Wow! Connor O Brien finally looks intimidating! The dark, ominous entrance, followed by their angry screaming, and the fact that CJ Parker didn't even get to tag in his partner were all neat touches. The team has piqued my interest.

- Promo & Match 3: Damien Sandow: Damien Sandow, thank you. His reply: "You're Welcome!"; Enjoyed this.

- Backstage Vignette: Bateman & Curtis have fabulous chemistry. And that showed. Its good that the WWE allowed them to talk, and didn't forget their feud / frenemy-state.

- Match 4: Tyson Kidd VS Micheal McGillicutty: I didn't think this was their best match to date, but it was a good clinic nonetheless. Kidd's reverse moonsault was the OMG! moment that now accompanies almost every Kidd match. The finish sequence was a little weak, though i loved Kidd kicking McGillicutty's face before snapping on the Dungeon lock .

Overall: Strong debut episode. Very interested in how they introduce all the wrestlers. I'd give it a 7/10
