Come on you Lions roar!

Wake Up Call 11-27-2011 06:38 PM

I hope the Lions win.. As a Rider fan, I was born and raised to hate them Bombers!!

Skippord 11-27-2011 06:38 PM

how big is the CFL in Canada?

have always wondered that

Stickman 11-27-2011 08:54 PM

The ratings are better for cfl games than nfl in this country. Teams do struggle to sell out stadiumsand stadiums are probably over half the size of nfl.

Teams have thier die hards but its not like the nfl.

I have also heard that Grey Cup gaems out rate stanley cup games and potentially 1/3rd of the country will watch.

Do you Canadians still hate the Fact that Baltimore won the Grey Cup back in the 90s?

Wake Up Call 11-27-2011 10:49 PM

In 2009 the 97th Grey Cup competition between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Montreal Allouettes drew the largest TV audience in Grey Cup history with 6.4 million viewers. The 98th Grey Cup, played November 29th, 2010, is second in Grey Cup history with 6.25 million viewers.

I wiki'ed that cause I knew the game gets huge ratings.

Here's a prediction: nobody will care because it's horseshit.

I could care less about CFL..... I find it much less exciting than NFL..... plus receivers can't catch anything....

Between the 12th player and no rules on motions/shifts/etc, it just comes off as glorified sandlot football. I will say that there are some damn entertaining games once in awhile.

The NFL has the better players of course, but not the better game
