What's the deal with Sting then?

He didn't debut tonight as rumours suggested. The match with Undertaker didn't and looks unlikely to happen and we still are no clearer on whether or not he has signed with wwe. He made the '31' references at a convention the other day but could be him messing with the fans.

Should we accept finally once and for all the sun has set on sting and wwe?

Razzamajazz 04-07-2014 11:20 PM

so rumors aren't true? OMG

Razzamajazz 04-07-2014 11:30 PM

Razzamajazz 04-07-2014 11:34 PM

Lock Jaw 04-07-2014 11:34 PM

Pretty sure he was in the front row of RAW wearing a Sting mask

Razzamajazz 04-07-2014 11:35 PM

Sting is returning at Halloween Havoc.

Savio 04-08-2014 08:03 AM

Taker was in the Hospital, can't really have him confront taker if he's not there.

Savio 04-08-2014 08:04 AM

That would explain the bit awkward warrior promo now too.

Swiss Ultimate 04-08-2014 10:32 AM

CM Punk told me Sting is debuting at Halloween havoc.

I don't know how reliable he is anymore, though.

Mercenary 04-08-2014 12:46 PM

Yeah Sting is not really needed it's time for the new guys to shine, and let the past stay in the past.

Innovator 04-08-2014 01:13 PM

Hmm, we have a bunch of new talent getting over and being treated like a huge deal, better bring in a 56 year old to even it out.

Emperor Smeat 04-08-2014 01:42 PM

Taker's rough shape and the WWE having a whole year to decide when to bring him probably meant there was no need to rush Sting's debut.

Even if Taker were to hang up his boots, Sting could still have his rumored Mania retirement match with someone else.

yeah i would rather he work with bray they could have a killer fued

Nowhere Man 04-08-2014 07:21 PM

I'm pretty sure if they ever sign Sting, it'll be on a Legends contract or give him something to do on the Network. Or at the very least, if the rumors of him going up to New York are true, it was to discuss a Hall of Fame induction.

Theo Dious 04-08-2014 09:36 PM

I was hoping he was going to come out during Warrior's segment, and that they were going to reform the Blade Runners and take on Batista and Orton. :shifty:

Jura 04-08-2014 09:45 PM

Sting has said he would like to do WM at least once.

Damian Rey 04-08-2014 11:39 PM

As in work a match, or just show up and get a moment to be there? Haven't watched Sting nor any of his TNA work a of late, so no clue how his in ring is at this point. Considering his age, would not doubt there's much left in the tank.

He surprisingly still looked decent in the ring.. He had some dumbass joker-sting gimmick where it got weird, like dad just hit mom at the dinner table weird, but he can still put on a decent match

The more I think about it the more I accept Undertaker is no longer fit for purpose. He was practically carried in that match on Sunday and whilst some may argue to the contrary, I think it was a bad move to end the streak that way. Personally I think they should have ended it next year with Sting despite the protests some will make that for example Sting would be breaking the streak on his debut etc. it would have provided for a far more exciting climax and rather than stunned silence perhaps would have triggered rapturous applause and the two men hugging at the end.

Well that's no more now and I for one would no longer be excited about a sting v undertaker feud anymore given undertaker no longer has that aura, at wrestlemania at least. Perhaps Sting v Cena as an alternative. After all we were meant to have Austin v. Hogan at Wrestlemania X8 but we had Rock v Hogan instead and that wasn't so bad was it?

Curd 04-09-2014 05:15 AM

Punk's practicing with Lex Luger to audition for the lead role in The Sting and I.

Bobo 04-14-2014 11:19 PM

Would have been cool for Sting to make his debut tonight. The sting crow theme would have played, drops down from the rafters and fights off evolution with his baseball bat. Sting is the only man who can strike fear into the Authourity. But then I wake up from my dream and realise Sting is an old man and the best we can hope for is one or two woos.

Bobo 04-14-2014 11:20 PM

How I wish Sting could have joined the WWE some ten years earlier. We were robbed of some truly potentially epic feuds but nevertheless he is still a legend.

Tazz Dan 04-14-2014 11:23 PM

Surfer Sting will debut in time for SummerSlam.

Sting made his first WWE-related TV appearance on tonight's Ultimate Warrior "Greatest Matches" special on the WWE Network. In between matches, they have been featuring recently recorded comments from various stars on Warrior and Sting spoke after Ricky Steamboat.

Sting talked about how his favorite Warrior memory was Warrior putting tuna and orange juice in a blender and saying, "I got my protein and vitamin C all in one."

Yes just read that. Looks like the cat is finally out of the bag.

Mr. Nerfect 04-19-2014 02:27 AM

I would be as pumped to see Sting in the WWE as much as anybody else, but the guy has had years to sign with the WWE and get a WrestleMania spot. If the time has passed then the time has passed. There's not really too many guys I want to see Sting really lock it up with.

Pass the torch to Kofi. No reason not to. It's not like he passed it to AJ Styles when he had the chance.

Bobo 04-20-2014 03:16 AM

It's a shame he delayed this for so long but what's done is done. Perhaps he feared that had he signed post wcw demise in 2001 his character and image as an icon would have taken a huge dent given he'd have been on the same roster as the likes of Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker and then HBK returned a few years later, Sting would have been a big fish no doubt but in an ocean rather than his comfort zone of a big fish in a small pond which is what TNA offered him. And he wasn't on the level of say Ric Flair or Hogan that he could just walk in to the WWE and hog the limelight straightaway.

Which torch?

Would Kofi inherit the face-paint and baseball bat?

Holy fuck that would give people a reason to care about Kofi...

Yes. I endorse this all the way.

Volare 04-20-2014 11:58 PM

Kofi could get some sick height on a Stinger Splash.

Swiss Ultimate 04-21-2014 12:23 AM

Top rope across the ring Stinger splash would be fucking amazing.
