'New' Marvel Films

Basicly I was thinking of picking up all of the 'new' Marvel DVDs to make a kind of collection. So which ones have they already made?

And to make this into more of a discussion, with mentions of Iron Man and a new Fantastic Four, what have they got left to do on the Marvel front that would be any good and you would want to see if done right?

Impact! 07-29-2006 06:57 AM

Well I want an Iron Man movie. In truth I'd really like a movie like the Marvel Nemesis game.

Lara Emily 07-29-2006 07:25 AM

Cloak and Dagger baby

Rammsteinmad 07-29-2006 11:53 AM

Of all the new films recently, there is currently:

Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, X-Men, X-Men 2, The Punisher, Daredevil, Elektra, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Man-Thing, Blade, Blade 2 and Blade Trinity.

But there are still plenty of things Marvel can make movies for... Currently in the works is Iron Man and Ghost Rider. They could do all sorts... Dr. Strange, Cloak and Dagger, Wolverine is gonna get a solo one, Sleepwalker, Nova, Solo, She-Hulk, Captain America, Thor... and most importantly... the Avengers!

Marvel's Upcoming Releases:

Black Panther
Captain America
Silver Surfer
Iron Man
Punisher 2
Shang Chi
Luke Cage

Rammsteinmad 07-29-2006 12:00 PM

Magneto's getting his own movie? Coooool.

Ant Man and Shang Chi seem as though they could be a bit dull.

Nick Fury? Why? What's wrong with the first one?

Fignuts 07-29-2006 02:51 PM

Yes, the masses are dying for a sleepwalker movie.

Ghost Rider-The Trailer looks great, but I thought he was huge in the comics.
Spider Man 3-Lloyd and Topher should be great villians.
Cloak & Dagger-And here I thought they're doing a remake of the spy flick.
Dr. Strange-The first one was great.
Black Panther-Hmmmmmm. Who will be T'Challa?
Captain America-If they make it during WW2 with Red Skull. I'm there.
Silver Surfer-I would tie him into the Fantastic 4 somehow.
Iron Man-Mandrin is the villian. WHO IS GONNA BE TONY STARK!
Punisher 2-First one was great. Who would he go after?
Thor-It could work....
Nick Fury-Like Rammsteinmad said. What's wrong with the first.
Daredevil 2-The first one was great. Another one would be better.
Elektra 2-Please spare us.
Hulk 2-If they really put effort into it, I'll see it. If not See above

I read that it would be Jigsaw

And to think Marvel was on the edge of bankruptcy a couple years ago...

Fignuts 07-29-2006 10:00 PM

Daredevil is underrated.

Is this surprising? They've been there like 3 times before this.

And yeah, Daredevil = Underrated, big time.

Is Ang Lee directing Hulk 2? Because I really want to see "Hulk wish Hulk could quit you!"

I would DIE for that. Seriously. :D

Blitz 07-30-2006 12:10 AM

Hulk 2 is being directed by Louis Leterrier, who did Unleashed and The Transporter 1 and 2.

Skippord 07-30-2006 01:53 AM

If its as bad as Hulk 1 so help me

Rammsteinmad 07-30-2006 06:08 AM

I would love to see a huge epic Marvel film... kinda like the Onslaught Saga. Make it one of those 3 hour movie epics and try and get in all these actors who have played all the heroes in their individual films. Imagine how many star names they would get in one movie. And Onslaught would be killer on the big screen.

The Destroyer 07-30-2006 08:26 AM

And imagine how much it would cost...

The new Hulk movie apparently isn't going to be that closely linked with the first one. For a start, Eric Bana won't be reappearing.

Onsalught, Secret Wars, Infinity Gauntlet/Crusade...There are a ton of well known ones they could do.

Danny Electric 07-30-2006 10:55 AM

If they did a film round teh new Civil War series, then that would be awesome.
Also I heard that Marvel had a deal with Pixar now?

True, there are... But I'd most like to see the Onslaught Saga.

Age of Apocalypse would be cool, but probably wouldn't work. People who aren't fans of the comics probably wouldn't know what the fuss is all about.

Kane Knight 07-30-2006 01:24 PM

I'm not sure Onslaught would be any different, though.

Rammsteinmad 07-30-2006 01:31 PM

Well it could basically work with Onslaught coming about and the Marvel universe teaming together to stop him. They'd probably have to change his origin a bit because the whole Professor X shutting down Magneto's mind hasn't happened in the movies. But movies always have small differences than the comics anyway.

With the AOA, because of the whole paralell universe spawning from the death of Professor X at the hands of Legion, that probably wouldn't work as a movie.

But Onslaught owns.

I also thought something with Galactus would be cool, but I think he's in the next Fantastic Four film, so maybe not.

You mean kinda like Phoenix just being a name given to Jean's more powerful half?

Rammsteinmad 07-30-2006 02:00 PM

Exactly.

He has a contract with Universal, meaning if they make Hulk 2... he already has the part.

Small differences is obviously a bad term to apply to these changes. I like to refer to them as practical changes. For instance it is impractical to try and fit an enormous space epic and a cosmic entity into a movie in which it wouldn't even fit well in.

Fignuts 08-15-2006 01:12 AM

Being that Onslaught is not as popular a story arc as secret war or infinity gauntlet, and the fact that many comic readers hate the crossover, you pretty much have a 1-1,000,000 chance of seeing this.

Also, Onslaught turned pretty gay for me, as soon as they pussed out, and made him some evil seed of magneto, or some stupid retarded bullshit. Shoulda just been xavier driven insane.

Ultimate Avengers and Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther

weather vane 08-15-2006 06:37 PM

They need to do a Lobo movie. I know he is DC but I don't give a fuck.
