Crowd Reactions
The dead, bored and energy lacking crowds that populate contemporary wrestling broadcasts has lead me down memory lane, when crowds seemed to be much more hot and able to add an extra element to TV broadcasts weekly rather than just the night after Wrestlemania.
What are some of the more interesting or memorable crowds/reactions you remember or love as a wrestling fan? Personally, the dynamic crowd for the Survivor Series '96 main event between Sid and HBK is one of my favorites and is one of the most visible and vocal declarations that the Attitude era was about to begin because the fans were fed up with the status quo. Thoughts? |
Hogan vs Rock Wrestlemania 18 was just insane.

Also, Hart vs Austin @ WM |
Also, to get out of WM crowds, I felt that When Bret Hart was pro-Canadian and against the US and the fans down there, the crowds were red hot. In Canada, Bret was the hero, in the US he was the vilian. An absolutely amazing dynamic

I thought the crowd after Lesnar defeated Undertaker was pretty amazing.

Definitely. The fact they delayed any official announcement made it that much better. Hell, watching it I didn't even believe it, simply because it was felt outta nowhere I guess. |
Steve Austin got some amazing pops during the attitude era.
one that sticks out in my mind is the one he got at Unforgiven 2000. @1:15 <iframe width="640" height="390" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/UIlgNu954mI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

1980s crowd reactions were fucking immense, probably eclipsing attitude and aggression era etc.

Bash at the Beach 1996 after Hogan turned on WCW.

It sucks to think that the industry has gone from putting out a product that fans WANTED to be loud for, and now half the time you have to wonder if some of the crowd reactions are really hot or if someone backstage is just pressing a button to pipe in noise.

Austin arriving to cost The Rock the title/allow Mick to get his first win.
