At times, yes. Dissapointing that most walkways aren't very long. To save on the budget, I used the only one that is fairly long, but it has an ugly support structure sticking out the bottom.

Also, lots of trial and error with the gravity jump in the middle, and plotting the jet pack platforming.

Also, are there any vehicles that can go across water? Because there should be.

Hoping they release more material to build with as DLC. Would be nice to have more exotic structures, to add a little variety to things. Even just adding covenant stuff would add a lot.

It seems that you can only have so many objects from the building category, no matter what your budget is. Won't let me put any more buildings down unless I delete an existing one. Gay.

I had a hell of a time making a bridge for one of the levels I did, trying to combine the biggest one made it to long for what I wanted to do.

The only vehicles that can technically go across water would be the banshee and the falcon.

Press B while holding a peice and you'll get positioning options, namely rotation snap and coordinates. With coordinates you use the game's cubic positioning and you'll pretty much set every peice in a perfect lock. Even after you move the peice in a position, pressing B and going into the coordinates page will automatically shift the peice to the closest cubic unit. It makes things so fucking smooth and organized you'll wonder why you set pieces yourself.

This was a bitch to build because halfway through I discovered a gross mis-measurement and had to readjust the whole damn map. Like the first two 'Hills' in Halo 3 the basic premise of this structure is a KotH game with one hill up top and four teleporters being the only way up there - with a 1/5 chance of being teleported in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a rocket to end your misery.

Should be done by this weekend, no playtest needed.

I hate maps that have teleporters that force you to kill yourself.

Also hate downloading a map where the spawn points are fucked and you spawn on the top of the little island with no way off.

lol, on one of my levels I have 3 that teleport you up in the sky and you fall to your death. Didn't feel like messing around with wall pieces to wall off such a little area so said fuck it, if anyone tries to get out of the level or hide under the ramp, instant death.

People have trouble understanding the distinction between kill zones and safe zones.

My teleport gamble was a key fun-factor in The Hill 1/2. Never had complaints.

I use to make great Forge maps when i had about 8-12 people to play. I had a kick ass Wrestlemania map with pyros on Halo 3's foundary. It even had a parking lot for parking lot brawl and I had a hell in the cell ring with a busted door to get in. Unfortunatly a lot of people i use to play with didnt bother with Reach. Ill probably wait a few more days and start making maps

Also, BTB is dead to me. Fucking sick of SWAT/Snipers getting crazy votes. Shit needs its own playlist. Actually, SWAT I don't mind, Snipers needs to be in its own shit.

nothing worse than 4 on 4 Snipers on Hemmorage...that shit was horrible run around for a few minutes before finally seeing someone in the distance....that ends up being a hologram

I love the pistol but I wouldn't want a pistol exclusive gametype. It's not about how good one is, it's just a lame gametype. Not fun at all played correctly.

Most people play games for fun. And it is fun to one shot kill some guy from across the map. Has nothing to do with being "hardcore" or other such nonsense.

When I legit try to win at snipers, I'm forced to play in such a way that I don't find appealing. Mind you, I can and will use a sniper in any other gametype, but the dynamics of the sniper rifle within the regular sandbox is spat upon in a game where everyone has a sniper rifle. Taking the universal set-up into account I have to maximize counter-sniping and positioning - and what results is a boring race to the bottom.

It's like when you really wanna win a fighting game at a competitive level some of the characters and tactics required just doesn't appeal to people. Imagine an all Sagat mode in vanilla Street Fighter 4. What you would have to do to use Sagat properly would be against Drakul or Blitz' very gameplay philosophy.

Now imagine that mode being picked consistently in the Endless Battles they join, and them having to learn the character despite their feelings. That's not fun. Especially when you have no control over its appearance in a vote and the game doesn't tolerate quitting after the fact.

Funny thing is the people who go for the game see themselves as the 'hardcore' while me and my guys would be the 'scrubs' for not liking the game.

Another funny note is how I'm not even arguing that it should be nixed. You can still have your fun in another playlist.

Dunno, I'd rather make something completely original.

I like making unconventional things, as evidenced by that first map. Gonna work on weapon placement and it will be ready for testing.

Again, I REALLY hope they eventually add matchmaking to forgeworld, or else this will be for nothing tbh.

Snipers is different than someone picking up a sniper rifle in a normal gametype, and should be treated as such. You're acting like it sucks because all the strategy of the normal gametypes is taken out. But really, it's no different than Slayer DMRs, etc.. except it's slayer snipers. Play it as such.

DMR games still have other weapons in the sandbox, it's more or less 'DMR start' games. Sniper games begin and end with that rifle.

And yeah, one of the reasons I dislike it is because I don't jive in a game full of snipers. That much I admit.

Whether I think it sucks or not takes a backseat to the idea that it should have it's own playlist. There are no losers in that set-up, and thankfully the fuss at the Bungie forums will probably encourage the decision for the Oct. update.

I don't know. I thought I heard that Forge in Halo 3 entually recieved matchmaking. Or was that bogus. Obviously a lot more you can do in forge world.

Honestly, they should take any gametype with a high volume of votes and upgrade it to a hopper. Not only does that award the popularity, it separates it from people who don't like it but have no chance voting it down. Every other gametype in a hopper that gets played more evenly will remain with other evenly played games. Games almost nobody votes should be dropped of course, or at least have light weight in the hopper.

Essentially how Bungie ran Halo 3 for the most part, so I'm not terribly worried. Just pissed I played big team snipers twice in a row last night.

Also, I started posting at this forum called 2old2play. Basically a site for finding new friends on live and psn that are over 25 years old, and not retarded. Played a few sessions of SSFIV with some people, but no halo, rockband, or cod yet.

Good place to make friends and get custom games going though, it seems.

Don't think that ever happened, you probably confused the news that more community maps would added to matchmaking.

Pretty sure there will be forge expansion either in a new 'world' map or somehow a budget extension.

Also hoping a multiplayer version of space dogfighting gets added. Would be cool if it was like the last battlefront game, where there was a battle in space on the ground, and you could go to either one.
