I just saw the band that does Orton's theme in concert last Friday. That's about all I can add to this.

Rev theory FULLY ROCKS

thedamndest 12-16-2008 08:15 PM

Did you actually go see the band in concert or did you just hear the voices inside your head?

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 08:17 PM

I see what you did there.

They did the Wrestlemania theme song too. "Light it Up".

thedamndest 12-16-2008 08:19 PM

Must have been an illuminating performance.

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 08:21 PM

I've gotta get outta here before I get 'pun'ished anymore.

Funky Fly 12-16-2008 08:25 PM

They should just call it "The Randy Orton and Friends Variety Show" at this rate.

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 08:27 PM

I fucking hate R-Truth.

Funky Fly 12-16-2008 09:15 PM

R-Truth: I spin and do flips for no reason AND I'm a shitty rapper.

McMahon: You're hired!

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 09:19 PM

Just got a thread idea, thanks Mr. Fly.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-16-2008 09:21 PM

Khali doesn't have a haircut buddy to match up with.

Triple Naitch 12-16-2008 09:39 PM

Since when has Eve needed a theme?

Kane Knight 12-16-2008 10:06 PM

VERSE I
Listen to the masses, social classes have to say
Tired propaganda like it matters anyway
Shovin’ down our throats all the images media play
While the meek are in the streets
Testify it’s judgment day

So what you lookin’ to find?
You won’t find it here
Somebody tell me why

CHORUS I
We’re crucified now almost everyday
Voices calling now it’s time to say

VERSE II
Somebody listen, won’t somebody please explain
Man killing man and nobody takes the blame
Oh, shed the light on my eyes so I can see
The reason for this life
What’s it mean to me?

Am I going mad?
Blind to this world
I wanna start again

CHORUS II
We’re crucified now almost everyday
Voices calling now it’s time to say
The truth will find us in the light of day
Voices calling now it’s time to say
I’m forever free…
(Hearing the voices call
Beaconing to you
Freedom is waiting now
Yours for the taking now
Reach out embrace it now
Freedom is waiting for you)

CHORUS II

I saw them back in September and think they do a cool live show. Actually met them afterwards and they said they don't play the Orton theme live.

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 10:17 PM

They're probably not allowed to play the Orton theme live or they'd get sued or something. I wish they would, though.

Dorkchop 12-16-2008 10:44 PM

What? HHH didn't find his way onto the center of the cover? This can't be official.

Anybody Thrilla 12-16-2008 10:55 PM

Rock and roll is like fightin' in the ring
We get together and do our thing
We all play hard, we all play long
That's why we got together to sing this song

R-Truth is the man.

They won't get sued. You don't incur copyright infringement for performing someone else's song live in the US unless you distribute it on CD or DVD or some other form of commercial venue outside of simply performing it in a concert.

In some countries, the venue pays royalties for any such song, but in the US, you aren't really restricted. They just don't want to do it.

"But Triple H, you don't even have a song on the CD."

"I don't care!"

BigDaddyCool 12-17-2008 09:42 AM

I can tell the difference between Rev. Theory and Theory of a Dead Man. I also sometimes confuse Alter Bridge with Shinedown. Actually, if you play me a song from any of those 4 bands and told me it was by one of the other 3 bands, I would believe you.

I can tell the difference between Shinedown and Alter Bridge. One's half decent, and the other does Edge's theme.

Its definately not an issue with that. I've got live versions of Austin's Disturbed theme, and Benoit's Our Lady Peace theme on my iPod. It's probably that they don't want to tbh

Disturbed performed a couple of times with WWE's blessings, once was even on Heat. But yeah, they don't actually need WWE's permission, and they don't face a suit or any sort of legal jeopardy.

But I can't blame them. Who wants to be associated with WWE? Publicity is one thing, but I sure as fuck wouldn't want wrestling fans going to my shows....;)

I'm sure their fans aren't any better. ;)

Kane Knight 12-20-2008 01:11 PM

All things considered, they're probably worse. Still, even shitty nu-metal and alternative acts probably say "lol carnies."

Too late for that. At the show I went to, I even saw a guy with a title belt and wearing a WM 24 shirt. So obviously wrestling fans know who they are and will probably see them because they do some of their themes.
