How would you feel if Kurt Angle returned to WWE?

Personally, I would probably mark out so hard that my head would literally explode, which would be unfortunate and kind of ironic. I know he had his abuse problems and such, but you guys seem to be pulling for Jake Roberts and Scott Hall pretty hard, so why not Kurt?

The dude is one of the best of all time. I think he still has a lot left to offer, and he'd be the perfect person to finally beat Rusev.

Your thoughts?

ron the dial 11-12-2014 02:05 PM

purely as a fan, i would love to see him come back. he's probably got a few decent years left in him, and it would be a shame to him continue with TNA when i wish he never would have left in the first place. that being said, i understand why we'll probably never see him wrestle in wwe again. and that's a damn shame.

whiteyford 11-12-2014 02:05 PM

Used sparingly, brought in for big shows or big angles, really couldn't think of a better word, yeah he'd be a huge asset. Used week to week you know he's gonna get hurt or piss hot sooner than later and by using him in a 'Taker/Lesnar/RVD way where he's brought in for a short run then given time off would prolong his in ring career there and keep the nostalgia pop going.

Anybody Thrilla 11-12-2014 02:10 PM

If Angle never would have left WWE, he might be one of the most decorated superstars ever.

He would have at LEAST become ECW champion. :shifty:

Rammsteinmad 11-12-2014 02:15 PM

I saw this in pretty much every Kurt Angle thread, but Kurt making an appearance in the Royal Rumble could potentially get one of the best reactions of all time.

TNA and WWE had that arrangement a couple of years ago, where they allowed Ric Flair to turn up at the Hall of Fame if Christian could turn up at one of their PPV's... it'd be great if they could reach another agreement here. Maybe have Angle be a surprise entrant, hell, let him come to the ring wearing a TNA t-shirt. Have him suplex the fuck out of everyone, maybe eliminate one or two mid-level guys and then get eliminated himself.

Would be one of the craziest mark-out moments in WWE history, and would surely be great publicity for TNA.

whiteyford 11-12-2014 02:15 PM

Really liked his ECW run as brief as it was, the promo he did about hating blacks/jesus/puppies and still getting cheered was great. Plus headbutting Justin Credible.

whiteyford 11-12-2014 02:17 PM

You always get that vibe that if WWE just told TNA Angle was appearing at the Rumble they'd be over the moon, they released Booker/Nash and I think a few others so they could jump ship no questions asked.

Anybody Thrilla 11-12-2014 02:17 PM

The mouth guard was so bad ass for some reason.

whiteyford 11-12-2014 02:21 PM

Made it seem more legit I suppose, like 'Takers MMA gloves:shifty:

And Rick Steiner's headgear.

Heisenberg 11-12-2014 02:25 PM

I miss him and still think his best days are ahead of him for a return

Ruien 11-12-2014 02:51 PM

Would be amazing. Makes me sad that it won't ever happen.

Evil Vito 11-12-2014 03:12 PM

Rusev's entire run to this point is tailor-made for a guy like Angle to come in and finally beat him...really sad that talks of a return evidently fell through.

That being said he's only on a one-year deal. He says he'd like to retire when it's over but if WWE agree to give him one final match at WrestleMania 32 or something I'm sure he'd do it.

Emperor Smeat 11-12-2014 03:20 PM

Happy but would be shocked if he wrestled part time like Jericho or was used beyond the usual stuff with the Legends or Foley.

JimmyMess 11-12-2014 04:10 PM

I would be all up for a Kurt Angle return.

Sepholio 11-12-2014 04:17 PM

Only if Taz comes back and hands Kurt his first loss in the new run.

Crippla 11-12-2014 05:08 PM

Would love to see this happen

XL 11-12-2014 05:33 PM

I can't really understand why WWE wouldn't give Angle the part-time deal he wanted. Given the lack of legit marquee names they have right now, surely having Angle part-time is better than not having him at all.

Tazz Dan 11-12-2014 06:21 PM

I'd very much like to see Kurt Angle back in WWE for one last run.

Shisen Kopf 11-12-2014 06:52 PM

I would love it if Kurt Angle came back to beat Rusev and proved once and for all who the greatest country in the world is.

mike adamle 11-12-2014 07:01 PM

So many fresh awesome match ups for a Kurt Angle run too. Angle-Bryan, Angle-Cesaro, Angle-Itami, Angle-Devitt, Angle-Zayn, Angle-Neville, Angle-Wyatt, Angle-Harper, Angle-Ambrose, Angle-Reigns, Angle-Rollins, Angle-Ziggler, Angle-Swagger, Angle-Sheamus, and Angle-Steen. Plus the awesome rematches of Angle-Lesnar, Angle-Cena, Angle-Orton, Angle-Jericho, and Angle-Van Dam

Don't really get how Kurt would prove Canada is the greatest country in the world like we all know it is, but meh, he should give it a try.

Pretty sure being top 3 on the deathwatch lowers his value significantly, plus all the reports about his neck/general health make you think he might not be able to pass the impact test they want now.

And you know he's going to the UFC/ US Olympic team:shifty:

FourFifty 11-13-2014 01:56 AM

I wouldn't want to see him come back in the same way that Lesnar/The Rock comes back. He should be a mainstay, but with his history... well.... I would be okay if he only worked TV once a week, and keep him off the house shows (unless it's MSG, his home town, or within a stones throw away from where TV was held the night before).
I could see him "demanding" a "part time" schedule, but not Lesnar style part time.

He's 40 and a drug and alcohol addict. Are you serious bro? Getting way ahead of yourself.

Disturbed316 11-13-2014 02:25 AM

A Royal Rumble return would blow the roof off the place. I'd have it Rusev dominating and eliminating everyone who is in the ring at the time, countdown begins, DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN DO DO DO DO DO YOU SUCK....YOU SUCK....Angle charges down, sloberknocker ensues, could lead to a double elimination and continued brawl to the back.

Destor 11-13-2014 02:54 AM

I would prolly watch wrestling for that

Lol Canada is the lol TNA of countries. USA #1 is the WWE. UK is like the real deal backyard fed with the #HABM.

I would love to see him back in WWE, but I can easily see why WWE has major concerns.

Lock Jaw 11-13-2014 05:51 PM

I too would love to see Kurt Angle back in the WWE.

Would be so surreal, though....

"Back in the day" Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar were kind of presented as "peers" and had their big "rivalries" and "friendships".

Thinking about a Lesnar/Angle confrontation today, though.... no idea how they could make Angle seem like a peer of Lesnar again....

I think you just found the angle right there.

Anybody Thrilla 11-14-2014 11:05 AM

Hell yes. Could you imagine today's Paul Heyman running down today's Kurt Angle about how he USED to be on the level of his client, BRRRRRRRRRRROCK LESNAR, and now he's just a dismantled and disheveled version of his former self, whilst Brock has gone on to become the undisputed BEST IN THE WORLD (wink at CM Punk). The redemption story prints money here.

Of course this would happen right after Angle beat Rusev.

Sepholio 11-14-2014 06:20 PM

RUSEV CRUSH~

Nicky Fives 11-14-2014 07:23 PM

would love it if he could keep healthy.... everyone on the roster could learn something from him and would no doubt be better off having faced him.....picture the matches he could have with and elevate the careers of Cesaro, Rollins, Swagger, Bryan & Ziggler to name a few....

dronepool 11-15-2014 03:30 AM

I'd say "oh shit" out loud (in a slightly higher pitch) followed by an excited "Yeah!" out loud.

hb2k 11-15-2014 09:29 AM

I'm not sure Kurt should be wrestling any more, to be perfectly honest. It's a shame how much the bloom came off the Angle rose in terms of public perception in the later years of TNA. He's been a victim of that lack of evolution too for a good few years. As a mark out moment, if that music ever hit with Rusev in the ring, I'd shit my pants, but I just don't know.

It's a shame he's clearly thought of as a mess by WWE that they don't want to touch.

If he came back and worked a part-time deal like Jericho and RVD, then I think it would be ok.

However - no more full-time work for Angle. Not only is Angle physically incapable of doing it now, but the younger guys need to get more air-time.
