I think it would be better for the wrestling industry if TNA was bought out by the WWE. The WWE could then further disperse their talents by having four televised shows, and could also push AJ Styles to the moon and make him as big as Austin and Rocky perhaps.

HOW BIZARRE!

1. He was a former World tag team champ
2. This is TNA we're talking about, they'll take anything they can get for a couple extra purchases. If Virgil joined the company, they'd tout the debut of a mystery "former multi-time WWE main eventer".... 'coz, you know, Virgil was in a couple Royal Rumbles.

I love AJ and everything but

I've generally been a bit M.I.A. on these boards lately, so fill me in... this Casey Jones is a sock, right?

Nark Order 04-19-2009 11:24 PM

Casey Jones is a hockey stick wielding badass.

NeanderCarl 04-19-2009 11:29 PM

He seems like a goon all right.

RGWhat316 04-20-2009 01:24 AM

I actually watched, and it was just a trainwreck as usual. Angelina getting knocked out was messed up, and Taylor walking around like she had no idea what to do. I could see Morgan slip the blade in his kneepads. Surprised Sabin is alright, since he had a nasty fall on his neck. And AJ botches as well, as it seemed his arm hit the top of the cage as he was falling.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-20-2009 01:43 AM

The Main Event was alright, just the finish was fucking weird as shit.

That reminds me, The Wrestling Theme Park of America just opened its newest ride. It's a companion piece to the ECW ride, the TNA ride:

Doesn't surprise me that they put the TNA World Heavyweight Title on Mick Foley. Say what you want about him, but the promo work he did leading into the match, trying to prove to his kid that it is honourable to want to be just like his daddy set up perfectly for the "guy past it still wins the title" storyline. Now Foley can put over a guy like Samoa Joe, who could never have won the World Title from Sting due to stupid TNA storylines.

Bobby Lashley was a nice surprise. He's probably the hottest free agent TNA could get not named Rob Van Dam. Lashley is a good talent, and when he works with Kurt Angle, you know it will be awesome.

I think the most ridiculous part of the PPV was them calling Christopher Daniels just "Daniels."

Foley won? Glad to hear that. Not to bothered about Lashley, dunno what the purpose of him being there is other than to shock everyone.

There were certainly more ridiculous parts to the event.

We like to shit on Bobby Lashley, but truthfully, the guy was the third Superman in the WWE until he had a bitch-fit or whatever and walked away. He's a massive coup for the company if they do get him to come in. He may have been a Brock Lesnar clone, or whatever, but as far as people to clone yourself after go, Brock Lesnar is a good pick.

I'd probably mark if TNA did sign Brock Lesnar, actually.

Mr. Nerfect 04-20-2009 09:13 AM

Also, did Awesome Kong do a 450 Splash? If so, that is fucking incredible. While I'm not the biggest Angelina Love supporter, when there are so many hotter (her own stablemate, for example) and better (Awesome Kong, for example) women to hold the Knockouts Title, this at least adds fuel to the Awesome Kong killing the hot bitches dead angle.

Then they can bring in that Japanese chick to work with Awesome Kong, which will fucking rule.

Super V 04-20-2009 09:21 AM

I never understood why people say Mick Foley's promo work is excellent...

All the man does is start off talking really low. AND THEN HE JUST STARTS TALKING REAL LOUD AND INTENSE ABOUT HIMSELF! And then he just starts talking calm again BEFORE TALKING REALLY LOUD ONCE AGAIN!

Fuck I hate Mick Foley.

Mr. Nerfect 04-20-2009 09:25 AM

Well, that's your opinion. The man makes me care, and that is something that TNA often has a hard time fucking up.

Innovator 04-20-2009 09:37 AM

I think Taz was the guy giving Joe advice

Mr. Nerfect 04-20-2009 09:42 AM

Truthfully, by the sounds of his recent blog about not being burned out and shit, Taz as a manager for Samoa Joe could work and isn't beyond the realms of possibility.
