Name a "letting go" that has happened in the WWE that actually pissed you off
I think John Morrison for me. My favorite wrestler for a while because he was just different in terms of his style, his entrance, his wrestling work, and attire. I used to LOVE the vignettes he'd do when he was doing alot of his workouts and Parkour. Yes, they gave him chances with some belts (i definitely loved his 15 min of fame reign as ECW champion) and a couple of pushes, but i think if he would've gotten with Flair, possibly Jesse Ventura, his mic skills would've put him OVER the top. I think that was the only thing holding him back, plus i think he caught a couple of neck injuries during the latter part of his WWE stinct.
But i was pretty pissed about this. I just watched a YouTube video a guy made that showed top 10 or 12 John Morrison moves and instantly got pissed all over again. What about you guys, anyone in particular? Lets keep it 2002 to present plzz |
Flair probably could has really helped Morrison on live promos, thought his taped ones were decent.

The whole thing with Bryan until it became apparent he'd be back eventually.
McIntyre's recent release annoyed me. |
Carlito, such a waste.
|
Yea, i definitely think that Carlito was going to be around for a WHILE, at least another 5 years after he got released. Maybe people were tired of him spitting partially chewed apple pieces in their faces.
McIntyre had the look, but didn't really impress me too much. Maybe because i needed him to lead some stable. He looked to me like the type that he could lead a stable and/or have an entourage around him. Also think he should've grown a beard during his IC title reign, would've made him look so much more badass IMO. |

Mr. Kennedy so much potential but he got hurt at the worst times, suspended at the worst possible time and put John Cena and Lashley out of commission with shoulder injuries. When he did the same thing to Orton it was the last straw for him.
Also Kaval (Low-Ki)- Except I think he asked for a release. |
I can't think of one. I can think of "Oh, it's a shame they are gone", but I can't think of one that "pissed me off".
|
MIIIISTEEEEER KENNEDY!!!... KENNEDY!!!
Dude was money and it was a major loss when he disappeared from the WWE. If his push to the top had happened the WWE's landscape would be completely different. |
Ok I don't get the love for Drew in the IWC. His singles matches were basically punch-kick matches and were so boring and people (not here, other forums) shit on him constantly. His theme was the only thing going for him.
|
Kennedy.
Was kinda pissed when the released Hassan because of the PC crowd or whatever you want to call it. That whole situation was not fair to him. |
Kennedy, just because the only fucking reason it happened was because of Orton pissing and moaning.
Hassan to a lesser degree, as WWE really didn't get final say in the matter and it was CW or UPN or whichever network SD! was on in '05 that was forced to pull the character. It was all largely because the Muslim community in SE Michigan took offense and raised hell. Can still remember reading one of the two Detroit newspapers about the whole thing. Lot of wasted potential to say the least. |
Kennedy for me. I was a huge fan and marked out HUGE when he won MiTB. The guy should have been a WWE Champion. But I guess you never know... One day........ One day.
|
Kennedy was sloppy as hell in the ring. He had a good gimmick but I can see why they let him go. I was FURIOUS when they let Mickie James go. So mad.
|
Drew McIntyre.

I was furious when Christian left, but he wasn't "let go", he just wanted to go.
|
Me too. Christian around that time was just amazing. The whole Captain Charisma gimmick was golden too.
|
Kaval - Not because I loved him that much, but just because of the stupidity of wasting all their young talent on NXT and then having zero direction for anyone in Season 2. Season 1 was OK, was kind of stupid at times then Nexus came out of it and it was amazing.
Season 2 was a cluster fuck with no direction and really killed the show. Then to have Kaval win and have a built in gimmick with him being Laycools boy toy, then just dropping it and letting him go, just showed how their entire development systems was jacked at the time. |
Adam Bomb / Wrath
Kanyon / Mortis (RIP) |
Hassan is the only one where I was actually upset.

Same deal with Ted DiBiase. Always wanted a Ted and Axel/McGillicutty team. |
Kinda bummed that Buff Bagwell and Jeff Jarrett werent signed with the WCW purchase. I know why in both cases, but still. They were great in WCW's dying days.
|
Buff Bagwell did sign on.
|
Mike Awesome was destroyed by WCW so by the time he got to WWE his value was never going to recover. That one sucked for me.
|
LOL Buff bagwell was NEVER amazing, ever,
the closest to greatness he came was riding Scott Norton to the ring |
best thing about buff was the hats. and sometimes overalls.

WCW missed out huge when Buff returned from his neck injury and didn't make him a face.
|
Kaval / Low Ki. So much potential there.
|
Glad to see Kaval mentioned here. The guy did really well in NXT Season 2, I think. He was fun in the ring and was actually a confident talker. The whole business with not following up his win and having him languish for months afterwards was just stupid. It genuinely annoyed me when he defeated Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match and then used his NXT title shot as a means of challenging for the IC Title (I think it was at a Survivor Series or something). Why wouldn't the NXT Season Winner not use their NXT win to challenge for the World Title of their brand? I think the WWE lost a guy that would have really added to their roster, but I guess if he was so volatile and concerned with direction he would have been a problem later anyway.
A few of the Diva releases over the years have annoyed me. Especially when a girl is hot and talented I get annoyed when the WWE does nothing with them. Katie Lea, Gail Kim and Shantelle Taylor are three that come to mind.Oh, and I still want Kharma back every week. I think Paul London could have been far more for the company, but I guess his inability to play ball hurt. He came up in an era that didn't embrace the style he worked as much as today's scene would too. Brian Kendrick was in a similar boat. Christian's release, although his own idea, also genuinely annoyed me. I think the WWE missed the boat to make something of that guy in 2005. |
Kennedy Kennedy is the closest I've been to actually being angry at a release. Though I was a little worried that after he came back they would change his personality too much and his face run would run out of steam quickly, he was money. He had the charisma, the perfect "cocky face" personality and the swagger to be a huge star. TNA would be much better right now if they had committed to him as THE guy.
|
Anderson was actually like their #2 merch mover at one point, wasn't he? It's a shame that they have turned him face and heel so many times and given him merely token runs with their World Title.
|
Even now he's such a good performer, but they have him wasting time with Samuel Shaw and Gunner. He should move on from that one fairly quickly. He'd actually make a great contender for Lashley if he acts like he doesn't give a fuck about all Lashley's accomplishments.
|
Really thought Drew McIntyre could have approached something more meaningful back before his de-push started in 2011. The tease with Kelly Kelly could have actually led to something. I was ready for him to stand up for her during Vickie Guerrero's torment of her and start a feud with Dolph Ziggler.
It was around the same time that John Morrison was stealing the show too, before he shot himself in the foot with the Trish Stratus stuff. That on-air relationship really should have launched him to that next level. |

They definitely had something with Christian in 2005, especially after he went to SD! in like October or November. If he'd stuck around, they could've booked him to win the Rumble or earn the #1 contendership sometime between January 2006 and March of that year and had Christian vs. Angle instead of that awful triple threat at WM 22. |
