Hmmm, I wasn't overly impressed ith DMC 4 if I'm honest, yes it looked amazing. But I still think 3 was the best in the series.
I think DCM - Twilight, has some making up to do. |

I dub thee correct, Fignuts, and will withhold further comment on the game as a whole until more is revealed. But as far as this new Dante goes, he can suck a cock. You wanna remix Dante for modern fare, fine (I have said ten years is decent 'reboot time' in the movie forum), what you don't do is fuck around with simple shit like white hair, red coat, and a ridiculous personality.
What we have here is literally some super-powered juvenile delinquent. And while I understand about waiting for gameplay, I just don't think NT can make a worthy DMC. They can only hope to develop something better than DMC2. All the others are beyond their scope, this I promise. And as far as this "DmC" going up against Ninja Gaiden 3, Asura's Wrath, Castlevania LoS, (and hopefully) a Bayonetta 2? Bitch please. MvC3 is DMC5. Now with that said, I'm always open to reboots and such, usually while everybody else gets pissy. So I imagine somebody's yukking it up already, this I welcome. I'll take my own advice and be open to new interpretations and see how far they'll take it. |

Interview with Capcom explains why the new Dante looks and might play differently due to Ninja Theory making the game.
Capcom demanded a reboot of the character and the franchise as one of the stipulations for Ninja Theory to make the game. They wanted a "hack-n-slash" game done in a Western flavor unlike the Eastern style of the DMC series. Quote:

RE5 was awful, Megamans looking awful, this is looking worse. At least there's MvC, DR2 and Okamiden, but Capcoms quality control that used to be stellar is severely slipping.

A movie is being made based specifically on this version, written by somebody with no knowledge of the genre or franchise. A bomb in the making. Make it stop.

Series trivia:
- Kamiya noted that his successor on the franchise, Itsuno (DMC3, DMC4) is mistakenly associated with DMC2. Most of the game was made under another director and Itsuno came late in development to salvage the game (it was much worse). - Kamiya gave Itsuno advice during DMC3 development. - Kamiya isn't fond of what Ninja Theory has done so far after seeing the trailer for DmC. |

Platinum Games announces that they are willing to salvage or at least work on the reboot attempt of DMC 5 if Capcom decides on changing studios or completely restart the entire project
Currently the studio is asking the fans to tell Capcom if they want a new direction and not themselves since they have no involvement with the current project. Quote:

I follow his twitter and he's been like this for a while. I don't think it's news worthy that he would work on it since it means very little. He was similarly cool with Bayonetta being added as a guest in MvC3, he'd say things like 'Ask Sega' or 'I wouldn't mind, sounds fun' or something. Imagine that blowing up into a news article. lol
