Os have 54 straight wins dating back to last season when allowing 0,1 or 2 runs, leading 2-0 in the bottom of the 8th tonight. The record is 66 straight for the 05-07 Yankees.

Cooler Tom Schuler 04-25-2012 10:43 PM

Chris Parmelee almost just took a pitch to the face. Just got down enough to take it on the helmet. Scary moment.

Droford 04-25-2012 10:49 PM

If you had told me that near the end of April the Os would have a better record (11-7) than the Tigers (10-8) I might have laughed. Being able to beat the blue jays is a good sign things are turning around (6-12 vs them last year, 4-1 so far this year).

Hopefully they can get things turned around vs the Yankees next week up in NY. If they can finally play with the Yankees and not get swept like they did earlier I might start getting optimistic about this season.

Emperor Smeat 04-25-2012 11:47 PM

Good win and great series the Sox had against the Twins even though the bullpen almost caused another big lead to be tossed away tonight.

RP 04-26-2012 06:17 AM

Cubs fans don't panic in April. We start preparing our draft parties in April.

Evil Vito 04-26-2012 11:11 AM

The Mets are fielding a completely homegrown lineup tonight. Honestly can't remember the last time that happened.

1. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, CF
2. Ruben Tejada, SS
3. Daniel Murphy, 2B
4. David Wright, 3B
5. Lucas Duda, RF
6. Ike Davis, 1B
7. Josh Thole, C
8. Jordany Valdespin, LF
9. Jon Niese, P

Holy shit, what a 9th inning!

Nark Order 04-26-2012 06:28 PM

FUCK YOU SUPREME. Did an audible fist pump at the gym today in the ninth inning and caused quite the ruckus.

Droford 04-26-2012 07:02 PM

Hoping Matusz can avoid losing his 13th straight start to help the Os get the sweep tonight..not confident though he'll magically find it for a good start.

ClockShot 04-26-2012 07:52 PM

Tigers release Brandon Inge and call up Brad Eldred to take his place.

Reading/hearing news about Inge was like watching Survivor. Guy's like on the verge of getting released from the team but always found a way to stay. This time, I don't think he found the immunity idol.

Humber's first start since the perfect game and he got shelled badly:
5 innings, 8 runs (7 in the 1st 3 innings), 9 hits, 3 HRs allowed.

Dubront finally got his first win for the Red Sox and had another good game. Bullpen didn't blow it this time.

ClockShot 04-27-2012 02:19 PM

Pujols watch tonight, right? Today is either make or break for him to get a home run or else this will the longest game streak without a home run?

Triple Naitch 04-27-2012 05:01 PM

Bryce Harper is getting the call tomorrow. Kinda stoked.

screech 04-27-2012 05:21 PM

Nice

Evil Vito 04-28-2012 12:01 AM

6 errors and 18 runs allowed for the Mets tonight on top of horrendous pitching. Fuck.

Skippord 04-28-2012 12:01 AM

if I'm getting anything from the first game of this series it's that the Rockies pitching is a disaster, and the Mets could use some work

Skippord 04-28-2012 12:03 AM

actually scratch that I don't think the Rockies pitching is to blame

fucking Scott Hairston always does this to them

RP 04-28-2012 12:05 AM

GO CUBS GO!!

Hardkore Kidd J 04-28-2012 05:25 AM

I am still pretty happy about that game last night. When you go against Verlander you don't expect to actually win. Any reason they kept in that pitcher in the 9th? I kept hoping and praying that they didn't take him out. BTW what did Delmon Young do again? I heard he got arrested but I'm not sure what it was about.

ClockShot 04-28-2012 07:32 AM

Dude, we stole that game. We take what we can get.

As for Delmon, got into an altercation somewhere and said some stuff. Some of said stuff was over the hate crime line.

ClockShot 04-28-2012 08:22 AM

Angels release Bobby Abreu.

Plate umpire Jeff Kellogg received a loud cheer during the Baltimore Orioles' game against Oakland on Friday night when he tackled a streaker.

But the hit is unlikely to go down so well with Major League Baseball officials, who are likely to discipline Kellogg over the incident, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The bare-chested fan ran onto the field in the middle of the seventh inning during the Orioles' 5-2 loss, and headed down the third base line, sliding head-first into home plate.

He stood up and continued running, when Kellogg gave chase and tackled him from behind.

Kellogg refused to comment after the game, but Orioles center fielder Adam Jones commended the umpire for the action he took.

"I told him, 'That's awesome," Jones said. "I'm sick and tired of these guys running on the field, man."

It was the fourth time someone had run onto the Camden Yards field this season.

"I'd [advocate] that people get Tased. I'd enjoy that," added Jones, referring to the brand of stun gun. "You don't run on the field and just disturb a game that's going on. It's private property."
getting really tired of people running out on to the field

Freddy Garcia's starts is like a game of hangman. For each bad one, add a limb.

I went yesterday, told my wife, "The pitcher for the Yankees...won't last too long." Even the beer guy was saying he couldn't wait for Pettite.

Wish granted.

Steady Freddy got banished to the Bullpen. David Phelps comes out to keep the 5th starter chair warm.

Nark Order 04-29-2012 04:08 PM

Timmy had a pretty nice game last night. Broke up a no-hitter in the sixth and pitched a pretty solid game. He needed to get out of this retarded fucking slump he's been in.

Droford 04-29-2012 04:09 PM

Wilson Betemit with a walkoff 3 run homer to cap a 5 run 9th down 2-0 with 1 out for the Os to win 5-2.

win #57 in a row when allowing 2 runs or less as well when it was looking pretty bad for that streak..

Emperor Smeat 04-29-2012 05:30 PM

Red Sox couldn't get the 4 game sweep against the White Sox but the road trip has been a huge success (6-1) after the debacle at Fenway's 100th.

Evil Vito 04-29-2012 06:06 PM

Why am I not surprised that the Mets blew a 4-0 lead to waste a great Johan start?

Oh yeah, because that's what they've done throughout his entire Mets tenure. Either there's no run support, or the pen blows it. He was on a HOF pace before the trade to the Mets. Poor guy.
