Well, Hasney was no fucking help...

...so let's see if anyone else is a miracle worker.

I have a copy of Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD 11 Production Suite.

Everything is perfect, except the video capture.

I use a LifeCam Cinema, and it comes thru just dandy in the standard multimedia setting on Sony Video Capture. But I need it to capture widescreen, and when I set it accordingly, all it does is stretch the image wider.

For the love of all that is good in the universe, I need someone to show me how to make this program work.

Aw, c'mon, guy.

All I've seen after a Google search is people bitching about getting that cam to capture in 16:9 outside of Microsoft software. Cyberlinks video editing forums says for their software, you should capture using something else and only use their stuff for editing if you want widescreen out of a LifeCam Cinema.

That's not very helpful.

I have a problem everywhere I turn, tho.

Vegas can't do widescreen.

Movie Maker doesn't understand that my camera's brightness is turned down.

LifeCam program can't fathom that I want to use my USB mic.

No matter which way I go, I get stopped by a single GIANT issue.

Only thing I can think of is with the Lifecam software. Right click on volume control and go to recording devices, disable your webcam mic and set your USB mic as default and as default communication device.

Longshot I know.

It doesn't do anything. Tried that a month ago. It will flat-out agree that my studio mic is the default mic, and yet still only register the built-in microphone.

That sounds like a Capcom title

Yes. Thank you.

I have a Lifecam Cinema webcam and it won't let you use anything except the built-in mic if you're using the Microsoft program. There's other programs out there that capture live video from webcam and then you use that file to edit it in whatever program you want but their names escape me for the moment. Maybe Camtastia Studio. You can try the free trial and see if it's any good. I only use the screen recorder and not the actual Studio part so I'm not sure. http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/features/win/

I had to do a project in Camtasia once. Had to jump through all these hoops to download the demo which I could only use for a week or something. Couldn't do it on the school computers for whatever reason and it ended up being so much harder than it had to be. Did horribly on the project too and I was like noh, I did it right.

It even has Vega's name in it.

I think I found something that'll record the webcam stuff properly. I just wish I didn't still need a separate damn program.
