Ah I see.

The lack of Christian is what hurt this show

Gertner 12-01-2011 01:26 PM

TNA should move Impact to friday's They'd destroy the WWE at this point. Sad that Henry had to carry Bryan to make it an entertaining match.

Lock Jaw 12-01-2011 01:28 PM

Well Bryan certainly couldn't carry Henry if he tried! *Fat Joke*

DaVe 12-02-2011 01:44 AM

Ironically, Cena could.

Xero 12-02-2011 01:53 AM

*Superman joke*

DaVe 12-02-2011 09:31 PM

And that about concludes the TPWW cliches.

Nah, they were supposed to officially introduce the stable (with Rosa Mendes) on Monday but they got bumped due to rewrites.

Mr. Nerfect 12-02-2011 11:31 PM

In the ring, Daniel Bryan is the goods. People will get behind him, but they're trying to force him as a "nice guy." Push him as a wrestling machine and he'll do much better. Next week, I'd go with Daniel Bryan facing Hunico in a match, or something, and beating him. Michael Cole then interviews Bryan and asks him how it feels to be a loser, etc. Bryan then chokes out Cole for funsies, gets a massive pop, and Cole can play antagonist to Bryan heading into WrestleMania, as well. People hate Cole -- so they'll love Bryan.

I'd go with Bryan vs. Cena at the Royal Rumble, too. Cena won't need to be in the Rumble, because he's got his program with The Rock set. If he's going to become the WWE Champion, he'll need to do it prior to WrestleMania. Daniel Bryan also has his title shot, and although he could use the Royal Rumble and actually save his briefcase title shot, you might as well just go with Bryan facing Cena what could be a really great showing.

#1-norm-fan 12-02-2011 11:46 PM

I'd like to see Wade Barrett, in an effort to dash Randy Orton's dreams of winning the Royal Rumble in his hometown, convince Orton to put up his spot in the Rumble. Orton agrees only if Barrett does the same. The two have an amazing match which Orton wins. Barrett now, without the Rumble match to get his title shot at WrestleMania decides to go after Bryan's MITB case at the Rumble and Bryan obliges with the idea that Barrett beat him at SummerSlam and if he can't beat Barrett, he doesn't deserve to main event WrestleMania.

I think Cena would be better served against HHH or in some kind of legend-related thing. I like the idea of numerous legends coming out and having his back in the quest to get the crowd behind him. Maybe ending with Austin.

Mr. Nerfect 12-04-2011 02:07 AM

Here is my ideal Royal Rumble card:

John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan
I'd open the show with the special attraction match between these two. These two guys could work really well together, and it could be one of Cena's better matches. Used a proving ground for Bryan, he really doesn't need to beat Cena here, but a win would not hurt him, at all. I mean, if Cena's going to be away from the WWE Title, does he really need to look better than the challenger for the World Heavyweight Title? That being said, a good showing could be all Bryan needs. I'd go with a time limit draw as the ending here. It might piss some people off, but let them go for twenty minutes, and when the fans want "five more minutes," Cena continues what could be an interesting story of him rebelling against the fans, and he asks them why he should give them what they want when they boo him constantly.

WWE United States Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Zack Ryder
At TLC, I'd have Ziggler vs. Ryder confirmed, but I'd also have Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger in a new kind of match. Have Ryder (the assistant to SmackDown! General Manager, Theodore Long, remember) call it a "Long Island Street Fight." Basically, the match is scheduled for two falls -- the first is a regular match, but once you win a fall, you can no longer be disqualified for the second. So Sheamus wins the first fall with the Brogue Kick, and he goes nuts on Swagger with a steel chair and has a lot of fun, but Vickie Guerrero makes it possible for Swagger to illegally use a steel chair to a fall over Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior makes a comeback, but Dolph Ziggler runs out to help Swagger, only to get obliterated by a steel chair. This distraction allows Swagger to take advantage and get Sheamus to tap-out to the Ankle Lock. It builds Swagger as a heel threat in time for the Royal Rumble (people already buy Sheamus), and it continues the relationship between Ziggler, Swagger and Vickie.

Anyway, Ryder comes out for his US Title match against Ziggler, but John Laurinaitis says there is no way he is going to make a champion defend his title in the shape that Ziggler is. Ace brings out Drew McIntyre as a replacement opponent for Ryder, and the fans are pissed, but Ryder gets a clean pin on McIntyre to continue building him as a challenger.

Here, Ziggler gets some return aid from Jack Swagger, who runs out and attacks Ryder, causing a premature disqualification, continuing the build to Ryder's inevitable US Title win, and conserving Ziggler's energy for the Rumble Match later in the evening (of which Vickie gets him included in). Ryder's ankle is injured by Swagger's Ankle Lock, and Ryder is effectively out of the Royal Rumble Match, which is important in freeing up a spot for later.

No Holds Barred Match: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash
Triple H and Kevin Nash's problems could easily be extended until the Royal Rumble. I'd like to see a more human side of Triple H, with Stephanie McMahon begging her husband not to fight a man as deranged as Nash. Triple H and Nash have a No Holds Barred Match scheduled for the Rumble, and Triple H wins here to give the fans a little bit of a feel-good moment.

Six-Diva Tag Team Match: Beth Phoenix, Natalya & Kaitlyn vs. Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres & Alicia Fox
The purpose of this match is to further the story between the ladies, obviously. You have the babyfaces united to face the collective "pin-up strong" Divas of Destruction. Kaitlyn takes the fall here, which gives the good girls a good victory, but protects Beth (and even Natalya). After the match, you could even have Natalya put Kaitlyn in the Sharpshooter, with Beth asking her if she's going to cry to get tougher -- a "tough love" approach, if you will.

World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. Chris Jericho
In my perfect world, Jericho is back in 2012 to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship and get some revenge against Randy Orton for punting him in the skull. Orton wins a World Heavyweight Title shot against Mark Henry after Henry beats Big Show in a Tables Match at TLC. Orton could even beat Henry with some help from Jericho, who is playing mind games with Orton. Henry enters the Rumble, tosses out a whole bunch of people (you know that will be fun), and Orton defends against Jericho here.

Not only would Orton and Jericho have a good match, but I think the atmosphere would be pretty fun. Jericho can be playing a less heelish version of himself, but cheats his ass off here to win the World Title, proving that he's still the old Jericho we love to hate. Orton is furious, but with Zack Ryder out of the Royal Rumble Match, there's a spot in there for The Viper...

WWE Championship: The Miz (c) vs. CM Punk
It seems that CM Punk is not Mr. John Laurinaitis' ideal WWE Champion. I can see Johnny Ace doing everything he can to keep the WWE Title off Punk -- including reversing the decision of Punk's recent title defense to a DQ, and hence a title win, for Alberto Del Rio.
I could see some sort of "raising of the belt" when Punk tries to pull it down at TLC, too. That sort of stuff to stack the cards against the protagonist Punk.

The reason I have the belt on The Miz here is, well, just because. The Miz is a pretty good media guy and is one of the better performers in the WWE these days. Putting the WWE Title on him again would help him more than hurt him, and it'd allow for a relatively fresh encounter between Punk and The Miz at the Royal Rumble. How does Miz win the title? Well, I can see a TLC Match featuring Del Rio, Punk, Miz and Cena for the next PPV, and Miz can win it there. Punk wins it back at the Rumble, and while it is more of what Punk called "WWE Hot Potato," it gives Punk little victories in his war against Johnny Ace.

Royal Rumble Match
This one is obvious. I'd go with the usual 30-Man formula, as I feel 40 was a suitable upgrade last year, what with both Nexus and Corre running around, but not necessary this year. In an ideal world, Chris Jericho will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, which means Randy Orton will need something to do at WrestleMania. Another Mania encounter with CM Punk could be really cool. Make Stone Cold Steve Austin the Special Guest Referee for that match, and you have a fantastic WWE Title match. So Orton wins here, which is in his hometown, apparently, which could be a great moment for people in St. Louis.

Kofi jobbed to Primo on Superstars this week accompanied by Rosa and Epico so I highly doubt it just wasn't enough room on SD not sure why they're celebrating Christmas so damned early.

#1-norm-fan 12-05-2011 12:14 PM

Noid, you want 7 matches at the Rumble? They're gonna have to all be short as shit.

Mr. Nerfect 12-07-2011 04:28 AM

True. Well, they're doing Triple H vs. Nash now. Also, I'm thinking that they could do Punk vs. Cena at the Rumble, which would be pretty major and fit everyone's stories nicely. Daniel Bryan can be in the actual Rumble match.
