Kentucky makes it's 2nd straight Music City Bowl this time against Florida State. Hopefully it's a repeat of last year. :D

I'm betting you they picked Kansas because they thought Kansas would travel better which would mean more money. Thats just totally fucked up. I like Illinois, but not that much. I thought it should have been USC vs Missouri, OSU vs WV, Hawaii vs Kansas, VT vs GA and the National Title game, OU vs LSU.

I don't know if Missouri was avaible in the pool for the Rose Bowl game (I think heard it was BC, Hawaii or a Big 10 team) Also you can only have 2 teams from one conference in the BCS, right there you got 3 teams from the Big 12

Basically Missouri should have made it in over Kansas

The traveling thing no doubt plays a huge role, BC missed out on the Chick Fil A Bowl (Usually goes the #2 ACC team) to Clemson just because Clemson has way more fans

MTH15 12-03-2007 05:56 PM

VT vs WV would've been niiiiccceee

1. Missouri’s a better team. Duh. This was up for debate around 6:59 p.m. on Oct. 24. It hasn’t been since then. Even the most loyal Kansas fans can’t deny that Missouri proved it was the better team nine days ago on a neutral field. Had MU’s defense not backed off its aggressive game plan in the second half, the score might have been more lopsided than 36-28. And don’t tell me Kansas would have done a better job against Oklahoma. If KU’s offense couldn’t block Missouri’s pass rush, Todd Reesing would have been the Sooners’ punching bag from the opening kickoff.

2. The attendance fallacy. Unless the Orange Bowl fell hook, line and sinker for Lew Perkins’ fuzzy math, it’s preposterous to think Missouri wouldn’t have traveled as well if not better than Kansas to Miami. Two weeks ago, Perkins made the claim that the Arrowhead crowd would be 55,000 Kansas fans and 25,000 Missouri fans. Didn’t happen. Either Perkins was way off on his projections or 15,000 Kansas fans unloaded their tickets to Missouri fans.

Last week, after a phone interview with Orange Bowl CEO Eric Poms, he asked me if I thought Missouri would travel well to Miami. He seemed concerned based on the crowds for MU’s last few bowls. I made the point that New Year’s trips to Shreveport and El Paso aren’t the most attractive destinations and that I thought MU would travel well to his gam,e. I suggested that MU’s crowds at Arrowhead and San Antonio would be better indicators of the fan support the Tigers have this year.

If anything, Missouri fans blew the attendance theory out of the water this morning when they gobbled up MU’s entire allotment of Cotton Bowl tickets in two hours. MU reports that it sold all of its 16,000 tickets by 10 a.m.

3. Star power. Missouri landed eight players on the AP All-Big 12 first team, including the offensive player of the year, junior quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Chase Daniel. Kansas matched Oklahoma with the second-most first-team players with four. Fans outside of Big 12 country might recognize KU cornerback Aqib Talib and perhaps Reesing, but it’s a fairly anonymous cast of players — some very good players, but certainly not a roster of buzz-worthy stars like Daniel, Jeremy Maclin, Martin Rucker and Chase Coffman. It doesn’t help that Kansas shies away from promoting its players for national recognition and awards. Meanwhile, the Cotton Bowl is giddy over its Daniel vs. Darren McFadden showdown.

I do think Georgia got ruled out before hand though...I dont think they should've been in either. They're just at large

Putting my money on LSU BTW FYI..

LSU FTW

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-07-2007 12:26 AM

I don't think OSU will be able to match LSU's speed, I really don't think Les Miles is as good of a coach as Urban Meyer though so you never know.

Reavant 12-07-2007 12:28 AM

Whatev.... Laurinaitis is going to light up Flynn or Perrilloux whoever is in there and Beanie is going to truck Dorsey

Reavant 12-07-2007 12:30 AM

LSU has all the talent in the world.... They should be undefeated. Fact is that their head coach sucks and he is the reason they lost two games and that there were two other games that they were real close to losing.

McFadden crushed you guys... he didnt prepare enough for him... lsu was injured too

Kris P Lettus 12-08-2007 06:27 PM

Not "us guys"..

I am not a huge LSU fan.. I am an SEC fan though..

McFadden crushes most teams he plays against.. He is not only the most dominant runner in the SEC but in the whole NCAA.. If you think, just because he had a great game that they didn't prepare for him is retarded.. Of coarse they prepared for him because he is their entire offense..

Reavant 12-08-2007 06:29 PM

they have the talent on that defense to shut him down. yea dorsey was hurt but they still could have done it.

Kris P Lettus 12-08-2007 06:32 PM

South Carolina also has the talent to stop him, but he ran for 296 yards on them..

Some RBs just have awesome games..

Reavant 12-08-2007 07:20 PM

South Carolina was 6-6. Why would you even use them as an example? Ark is a 4 loss team. They had no business beating LSU.

Kris P Lettus 12-08-2007 07:25 PM

Any team in the SEC can beat any other team on any given Saturday..

That's why SEC is the dominant division..

Reavant 12-08-2007 08:43 PM

Oh ok right right

Kris P Lettus 12-08-2007 09:00 PM

Be sarcastic all you want, but it's the truth...

Tebow got the Heisman with Run DMc as the runner up..

Cause you know SEC=dominant..

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-09-2007 12:05 AM

Heisman doesn't mean shit, Tebow deserved it though glad he didn't get snubbed just cuz he's a sophomore.

SEC is the best conference Krispy but lets not get crazy, its not like the other conferences can't compete.

Kris P Lettus 12-09-2007 12:50 AM

I know there alot of great teams outside the SEC, I'm just talking shit..

Reavant 12-09-2007 01:14 AM

I think the WAC is the best

MTH15 12-09-2007 01:56 AM

Picture...WTF?

Kris P Lettus 12-09-2007 11:16 AM

Are you talking about the pic I posted??

If so, it's some Ohio State fans "SammyGing" it up after Florida beat that ass last year in the BSC title game..

MTH15 12-09-2007 11:28 AM

Lol lmfao

Reavant 12-09-2007 04:05 PM

The SEC is good but I dont understand how you can claim theyre the best... usually you would have to look at out of conference play and see how they did against quality schools out of their conference. Now LSU had one quality win out of conference and it was a beating of Va tech. But the rest of the teams were shit. Whatever I think LSU has the best talent in the country. They should win em all. But lets look at the other schools....

Georgia beats Oklahoima St. and Georgia Tech. both unranked, and ending with a combined 11 losses.

Tennesse, the SEC east champ and second place in the SEC, loses by two touchdowns to a 6-6 California team. The other teams they play are shit.

Florida plays Westerm Kentuckey, Troy, FAU, and Florida St. Are you serious?

Kentuckey plays a schedual almost the exact same as Florida except they have a win over a Louisville thats ranked #9 at the time but ends with a 6-6 record.

South Carolina and Vanderbilt play noone what so ever.

Auburn beats a 7 loss Kansas St. team and loses to South Florida, who I know were ranked number two at one time, but its fuckin Auburn! Arent they supposed to be really good?

Arkansas plays through a bunch of 1-AA teams

And Im not even going to waste my time with Miss St. alabama and Mississippi.

Yea Florida being an SEC team won the national Championship, but that doesnt have anything to do with the conference... that has to do with the team. And yea LSU beat Notre Dame... but who didnt beat Notre Dame that year?

http://www.collegefootballseason.com...OOC=1&Result=L

The first chart is much, much bigger for some reason..

I dunno..

Reavant 12-09-2007 04:47 PM

That would be because the wins, other than Va Tech, came from the sunbelt, con USA and 1AA. Are ya serious right now?

Exce0pt for one school.... what happened when the SEC played another BCS conference????

Kris P Lettus 12-09-2007 05:28 PM

There are 12 SEC schools, who all could beat any other SEC school on any given Saturday..

It would be stupid to play alot out of confrence..

Kris P Lettus 12-09-2007 05:28 PM

That's what Bowl games and the BCS title is for..

RoXer 12-09-2007 06:34 PM

7-7 against BCS conferences.

Kris P Lettus 12-09-2007 06:58 PM

We'll see who wins the national championship..

RoXer 12-09-2007 07:29 PM

Ole Miss?
