Triple H no doubt about it. I am a huge Triple H fan.

HHH. But it's a lot closer imo than the voting is indicating so far.

Ermaximus 04-09-2010 09:19 AM

HA!!! Who can you honestly put over HHH? Not many people, but Supreme, please put HHH against Sheamus at one point during his 5 person run! PLEASE!

HHH's title wins never made me mark like Edge's did, so I'll be one of the few who go with the Edgemeister

I can see Triple H winning this one, but it can be debated that some of his success wouldn't have came if it weren't for the fact he was boning the boss' daughter

XCaliber 04-09-2010 10:28 AM

May not like him that much but I can't deny Triple H's greatness over Edge's.

Rammsteinmad 04-09-2010 10:42 AM

Edge. Simple. Two reasons:

Edge is AWESOME!

I HATE Triple H.

Jeritron 04-09-2010 11:06 AM

Triple H from 1997-2001 is one of the best runs of alltime for a wrestler

VSG 04-09-2010 11:11 AM

No one beats the Game- NO ONE!

Swiss Ultimate 04-09-2010 12:11 PM

I love Edge and I like Triple H...however, I feel that Triple H was/is the better wrestler. Weird.

Skippord 04-09-2010 12:45 PM

Edge

I will not give a reason

Ermaximus 04-09-2010 12:46 PM

Damn. Is James Steele going to have enough neg rep to give to the extreme HHH haters?

Innovator 04-09-2010 12:56 PM

I'm not a HHH hater, just an Edgehead

Lock Jaw 04-09-2010 01:12 PM

Triple Haitch wins this out. In the present I enjoy Edge 10x that I do Triple H.

However, Triple H's original The Game stuff was amazing. Evolution era Triple H wasn't too bad either, despite the constant burial of the entire roster.

jskinnyg 04-09-2010 01:22 PM

Hard one... But the Game baby... See me in 5 years and maybe the answer is different...

NoRoolz 04-09-2010 01:43 PM

Triple H.

I love Edge but he's not in H's league. Talent wise he arguably is but Triple H has been more or less THE top guy for over 10 years.

His in ring skills are so overlooked as well. Very rarely makes mistakes, things always look neat, and his ring positioning is second to none.

Also leader of the two of the three huge WWE stables since about 98. Two of the four if you include the corporation, but then he was also involved in that and has ended up marrying Steph.

And HHH is a lovely bloke in real life, when I met him anyway. Edge steals best friends girlfriends.

Joesgonnakillyou 04-09-2010 01:56 PM

I can't seem to get over the hatred i had for HHH from 2002 to early 2004. Despite how good he was before and to an extent after.

Another reason to vote for Edge is because I think he stood out on his own as a rising star. HHH always had someone else there to make him look good. HBK, The Rock, Mick Foley, Austin. Edge didn't have as much help as HHH did.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-09-2010 02:50 PM

I'd just like to point out that Triple H's Better Wrestler record is 0-3. All losses to great opponents, but still a little surprising.

I can understand Flair and Bret Hart, but I still think HHH > Taz (I wasnt a member here but still was a reader)

Lock Jaw 04-09-2010 02:58 PM

Taz beating Triple H will forever be one of the biggest jokes in Better Wrestler history.

ImpactPlayer365 04-09-2010 06:53 PM

HHH is the measuring stick.

The Franchise 04-09-2010 07:02 PM

While Triple H's 1998-2002 "The Game" run was better than anything Edge has done in his career, I am still voting for Edge. Post-2004 Edge has entertained me more than Triple H by leaps and bounds. Even during the Attitude Era while HHH was a lot better than Edge, Edge was still damn entertaining with the whole E&C stuff. Plus as great as Triple H was from 98-02, I can't help but think that his main opponents being guys like The Rock and Stone Cold in their prime make him seem a little better than he was. Not taking anything away from H as he was that damn good and all but any heel would look better than they are feuding with Rocky in 2000.

So I guess Edge is more consistent and that is why he gets my vote.

What about Rikishi(Austin and I think the Rock) and Val Venis (mankind)? Just exceptions to the rule?

What? Rikishi definitely looked better feuding with those guys.

James Steele 04-11-2010 03:57 AM

I will only post that I believe Triple H is one of the 5 the greatest all-around professional wrestler of the past 20 years on the global promotion level. Pardon me while my head explodes from reading some of the posts in this thread.

The Franchise 04-11-2010 06:26 AM

He's been pretty average since 2005. I honestly can't think of one great Triple H match since the HIAC with Batista in 2005. Orton LMS I guess was pretty good...

The Franchise 04-11-2010 06:31 AM

These types of match ups are tough to vote on. Do I vote Triple H because his prime was better than anyone in WWE history minus a select few or do I vote Edge because he's been more consistent in all his years? Keeps me up at night.

Ruien 04-11-2010 02:27 PM

HHH by far, he carried the company for a few years when all the top players left (Rock, Stone Cold, ect ect) and only had Mick left.

When was this?

Jeritron 04-13-2010 03:57 PM

If you're referring to late 1999 and 2000, The Rock was there the entire time and at his most popular.

If you're referring to 2003, after Rock and Austin had hung it up, Mick Foley was not around in any capacity.

The Franchise 04-13-2010 04:11 PM

I'm guessing he is referring to around Mania 19 (Rock/Austin leaving) to Mania 21 (Cena/Batista winning world titles) but I'm not sure if HHH 'carried the company'

He was the top guy but it's not like there wasn't a shit tonne of big stars still kicking around (Angle, HBK, Taker, Lesnar, Goldberg, Jericho etc).
