How many people fell on Thumb Tacks in the WWE?

I was thinking of a way to endear Roman to the hardcore fans more would be to have him go through a hardcore match where he goes through hell but eventually wins (Like Orton/Foley in 2006). I think that really boosted Orton up in fans eyes, but Orton was the only fresh face to take that leap correct? Did HHH take a thumb tack bump @ RR 2000?

I only remember Foley, Orton, and Kane taking one.

Taker not take one?

voncouch 02-05-2015 07:30 PM

Taker had a few sticking in him, but I don't think he ever bumped on them. Edge did though at their Mania match. Check out 12:23

I tuned out of wrestling at that time, pretty brutal match.

Rammsteinmad 02-11-2015 11:56 AM

The Orton/Foley match was at Backlash 2004, and yeah it probably did endear Orton to fans a lot more, especially since he was already pretty solid as a midcarder with his Legend Killer gimmick, but that match he really proved himself. Especially since after the thumbtacks, he then took a dive off the stage. Pretty awesome match.

Triple H didn't take a thumbtack bump during the Royal Rumble 2000 match, though. What a pussy.

Super anal post right there. :y:

Rammsteinmad 02-11-2015 11:58 AM

Forgot to add, to answer the question in your post, Roman Reigns taking that bump might endear him more, but let's be serious here, WWE won't allow a spot like that any time soon.

I think this is a great idea, especially if they use vest-piercing tacks

Big Vic 02-11-2015 02:56 PM

Maybe he could fall on a rake....that should pierce the vest.

Fignuts 02-11-2015 09:40 PM

He's still terrible, so no, it won't make a difference.

Helmsphere 02-12-2015 06:04 PM

I want to say Ric Flair also went thru thumbtacks, thru I can't remember but I want to say it was against Big Show when he was challenging for the ECW Championship.

Yes I still shake my head at that, Ric Flair v. Big Show for the ECW Championship

Big Vic 02-13-2015 11:56 AM

Find it Odd that Big show is the only guy to hold WWE, WCW, ECW, titles at one point in time.

Props to flair if he took that bump.

Rammsteinmad 02-14-2015 11:01 AM

Not sure about in WWE, but Flair did this in TNA.

When I found the said match I was referring too, it was Big Show who took the tack spots, thru Flair did get a few as well, but didn't take a full fledge spot into them.

Whoa didn't know flair had it in him.

Big Vic 02-27-2015 12:08 PM

Orton's bump was pretty brutal, he was way high up..... Mankind's first was pretty bad too, since he rolled in them.... If I were to rank most painful to least I would Have to go:

  1. Mankind
  2. Orton
  3. Cactus Jack
  4. Edge
  5. Flair
  6. Big Show
  7. Kane

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-28-2015 02:50 AM

Triple H got a good amount of them with the pedigree on Foley.

We can add Jericho to the list, tough bump, and Ambrose got a few with his "Dirty Deeds" move.

Don't forget Thumbtack Jack the legend
