NBA 2012-2013 Thread

The preseason ended last night and I am very optimistic about the Hornets.. We def need Gordon to come back and stay healthy because he is our best offensive player.. The rest of the team is young but with the additions of Unibrow Davis and Rivers, NOLA should atleast complete for a playoff spot in the west..

I'm gonna try to go to the Spurs game on Wednesday night..

Supreme Olajuwon 10-27-2012 12:13 PM

Yo Krispy, be sure to root for my nigga Brian Roberts this season. Probably the nicest guy on the planet.

Kris P Lettus 10-27-2012 12:16 PM

:y:

SammyG 10-27-2012 04:48 PM

I hope the Hornets do well. I really like Anthony Davis. I see the Lakers ending up as the 2nd-3rd seed in the west, making the Finals, then I don't know.

SammyG 10-27-2012 04:48 PM

All depends on Mr. Potato Head dumbass Mike Brown

Kris P Lettus 10-27-2012 05:26 PM

Do you think Kobe will retire after this season??

If they win I'd say def, if they don't I dunno..

McLegend 10-27-2012 11:09 PM

James Harden traded to the Rockets for Kevin Martin.

Interesting

Crimson 10-27-2012 11:24 PM

Damn..I guess he had to be traded. 2 first rounders next year as well, hopefully top 10. This is big..no way they will be a top seed . I can see top 4 maybe 3 for the playoffs

Emperor Smeat 10-27-2012 11:31 PM

Big loss for the Thunder but then again he was a bit too stubborn since the last offer was just $5 million less than his max request. Don't think he ever offered a range value and just kept pushing for the max.

Thunder made out pretty well in terms of the future with the set of picks they got.

Evil Vito 10-27-2012 11:48 PM

That trade eliminates any hope there may have been to avoiding a Heat/Lakers Finals. I just can't see it ending any other way, barring injury.

Are you really crowning teams before the season even starts??

Emperor Smeat 10-28-2012 12:34 AM

ESPN did once the Lakers got Nash and Dwight.

They even went as far considering the Thunder (pre-trade), Spurs (experience), and Celtics (got younger) as the only legit spoilers. Everyone else was basically hinted as having no chance or being more of a shock than legit force.

Although they did consider Minnesota for some strange reason as the 3rd best team in the West before the recent injury to Love I think.

The NBA is, by far, the most predictable of the 4 main sports. Not only can you pick 90% of the playoff bound teams with relative certainty, there's just very little parity, if any. The difference between the good teams and the great teams is enormous.

While teams like the Celtics and Thunder are still very good, I just don't see them being able to beat the Heat or Lakers in a 7 game series...again barring injury.

Droford 10-28-2012 01:06 AM

Bulls vs clippers

Kris P Lettus 10-28-2012 04:36 AM

Predict the playoffs, yeah.. The Championship, no..

James Harden traded... Feels like the Lakers path to the finals got a little clearer even though they're picking up Kevin Martin. He's a good scorer, but they had trouble balancing Westbrook's desire to score with flowing through Durant and I don't think Durant is as domineering as Kobe to where he'd say how things were going to work.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...ouston-rockets

I'm predicting Celtics vs. Lakers in the finals with Boston pulling it out in 7.

Supreme Olajuwon 10-28-2012 09:11 PM

lol @ people thinking the Thunder had a chance anyway

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE SHOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Kris P Lettus 10-28-2012 09:20 PM

Nah, I don't. Kobe's got 2 years left, I would say. 2014 is gonna be an interesting year for LA, going to have lots of money to spend.

SammyG 10-28-2012 09:55 PM

Seriously lost a lot of respect for Harden. Leaving OKC just because they couldn't afford a max deal... Harden, Westbrook and KD35 could have ruled the West for years to come, but he decided to be selfish and accept more money to be a starter on a team that will not contend for a title. Disappointing, but it makes the Lakers chances of making the Finals way better.

He declined to sign the 4 year 55 million dollar extension. What does that show? That he doesn't wanna be there. He was gonna bounce at the end of the year anyway, because OKC didn't have the money to give him the deal Houston is gonna give him. He's a piece of shit.

Yes they did

RoXer 10-29-2012 02:23 AM

They just didn't want to be luxury taxed. Which was more important to them then keeping the team together.

Skippord 10-29-2012 02:25 AM

lol piece of shit? really?

SammyG 10-29-2012 02:49 AM

Yes. really. Turning down 55 mil and a chance to continue building that team, which is already great.

No, they didn't. Presti said they couldn't offer Harden any more than what they did.

Skippord 10-29-2012 02:50 AM

well it's not like he burned down an orphanage or raped someone or something

SammyG 10-29-2012 02:54 AM

IS THAT A KOBE JOKE

SammyG 10-29-2012 02:55 AM

I guess I'm just mad there's no loyalty in sports anymore. Oh well. At the end of the day, it makes the Lakers the odds on favorite to come out of the West.

Yes they could. They would just rather not be taxed than keep a team toget-- nigga I already said this

Skippord 10-29-2012 02:56 AM

Kind of

I liked the way those two things went together and then realized it worked as a Kobe joke too

Dwight shoulda stayed in Orlando

Skippord 10-29-2012 02:58 AM

well I mean Dwight Howard isn't exactly the pinnacle of loyalty

Skippord 10-29-2012 02:58 AM

GOD DAMMIT ROXER I WAS JUST MAKING THAT POINT

SammyG 10-29-2012 03:02 AM

Only thing Kobe is penetrating is the Dallas defense on Tuesday. If he plays, that is. Fucking preseason injuries.

Kris P Lettus 10-29-2012 09:30 AM

He's a piece of shit for wanting to make the most money he can in his limited career??
