Avengers: Age of Ultron

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

This is the finale of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 2 which includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (TV).

Lock Jaw 07-20-2013 11:27 PM

Very interesting. I wonder if Thanos is the Guardians of the Galaxy villain then, and has nothing to do with Avengers 2.

slik 07-20-2013 11:39 PM

Yondu is the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, though it's possible Benicio Del Toro's 'The Collector' is as well, as he's booked for several Marvel films.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 11:40 PM

I'm thinking Thanos will be the villain of Avengers 3, which RDJ is already signed, and it also being the big finale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and reboots come about.

Fignuts 07-21-2013 01:11 AM

I like that idea. Very difficult to top Thanos as a threat, so it's good that they're saving him for the finale. I imagine he'll still play a part in age of ultron, albeit behind the curtain.

In other news, ffffcffffffffffuck yeah ultrooooooooooon

alvarado52 07-21-2013 02:14 AM

BONER ALERT!!!!!

I agree with the idea of Thanos being THE villian to wrap up the universe. Wondering when they'll begin to introduce Ultron/Hank Pyme.

Fignuts 07-21-2013 05:08 AM

Shield tv show would make the most sense.

The Destroyer 07-21-2013 05:18 AM

As long as it's not actually an adaptation of Age of Ultron.

Fignuts 07-21-2013 05:59 AM

I kinda doubt it. Those alternate reality hijinks really only work because of the long running "ultron will eventually win" inevitability.

dronepool 07-21-2013 07:08 AM

Cool, but I'll save the excitement oh my gods and satans for the trailer. It should be good, though. Out of phase 2 Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: The Winter Soldier have my enthusiasm so far.

Shadow 07-21-2013 04:51 PM

Jebus Age of Ultron eh? Not sure if digging.

Mostly cause Ant-Man's in phase 3 so...

Lock Jaw 07-21-2013 05:03 PM

If they introduce Hank Pym in Avengers in some way, it does nothing but boost ticket sales for the relatively low-profile Ant-Man movie.

Of course, they could just have Ultron have nothing to do with Hank Pym at all.

Kalyx triaD 07-21-2013 05:18 PM

More than likely Ultron will be tied to Stark in this universe, may have something to do with JARVIS as well.

Lock Jaw 07-21-2013 05:46 PM

Huzzah for wild speculation

McLegend 07-21-2013 05:51 PM

I do love wild speculation.

Considering Ultron's cool and I couldn't care less if Ant Man even makes an appearance, I don't care.

In fact, I'm sort of hoping Kalyx is right.

I believe I read something about the Comicon teaser showing Iron Man's helmet being reshaped into Ultron's head. So I wouldn't call it that wild.

Well, Whedon says the story is nothing to do with the Age of Ultron comic series, and that Hank Pym is definitely not in the movie and not involved in Ultron's origin.

Fignuts 07-22-2013 12:49 AM

Wouldn't be surprised if Thanos has a shadowy hand in giving ultron it's sentience.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2013 12:53 AM

Hopefully not literally a shadowy hand

Hanso Amore 07-22-2013 01:17 PM

With Iron Man 3 showing more and more automation in Starks suits, I wouldnt be surprised to have this be some kind of Uber Ironman suit that is taken over and powered by Thanos and the Avengers have to stop.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2013 01:20 PM

With the way Iron Man 3 ended, having Ultron come about as a result of maybe someone gathering all the Iron Man suit debris, it would be a good way to bring Tony back into the hero game.

slik 07-22-2013 06:47 PM

Maybe Jarvis turns heel on Tony?

Kalyx triaD 07-22-2013 06:48 PM

We kinda alluded to that, yes. Would be interesting, as JARVIS seemed more human as the MCU went on. I liked his flustered tone in IM3, for instance.

McLegend 07-22-2013 06:56 PM

Man a Jarvis heel turn would be devastating. I love Jarvis...

Lock Jaw 07-22-2013 11:38 PM

WHAT IF THAT KID FROM IRON MAN 3 BUILDS ULTRON?!

Hanso Amore 07-22-2013 11:41 PM

Jarvis is the third guy!

*leg drop on war machine*

It'll turn out to be a Doombot. Or a Life Model Decoy. Somehow.

Fignuts 07-23-2013 12:57 AM

I like Hank Pym, but I like the Idea of Stark inventing ultron better. That way they don't have dedicate a portion of the movie introducing a new character that most people won't give a shit about anyway.

Miotch 07-23-2013 04:06 AM

Hank Pym is one of the best Marvel characters if done correctly, and probably the worst if done incorrectly.

I may or may not expand on this some time later when it's not 1:07 in the morning.

Does "done correctly" include spousal abuse?

Hanso Amore 07-23-2013 10:40 AM

Hank Pym blows, and would be shit in the Avengers movie. Plus the general masses would laugh at the name Ant Man

Most of his other aliases aren't much better, either.

Kalyx triaD 07-23-2013 06:00 PM

I have a distinct dislike for 'Giant-Man'. Yellow Jacket has mass market appeal, I think.

We're mostly up to date here.

Kalyx triaD 08-28-2013 01:33 PM

Yeah JARVIS is totally Ultron. Now we just sit back and see how this happens.

Skippord 08-28-2013 01:40 PM

that's kind of what we do all along

You're basing this on what they said about Stark being Ultron's creator?
