This sucks. And I just put $10 more on my reserve today.
Then again. I did hear something that there's the slim chance of Mega Man being in the game. |
So does that mean the EU release date is something retarded like August?
|
Most people think the PAL version will be released around May. It wouldn't surprise me if it was August, actually.

Sheik
Use Zelda’s down special move to transform into Sheik! Once you do so, you’ll have access to a completely different character. Sheik doesn’t appear in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but we based her model on a design that was drafted up during the development of that game. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116a.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116b.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116c.jpg http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...ik_080116d.jpg Sheik's Special Moves Standard Special Move - Needle Storm Side Special Move - Chain Up Special Move - Vanish Down Special Move - Transform Final Smash - Light Arrow |
They have update every characters profile page with a list of their specials and their Final Smash.
So they have let us know the name of Olimars Final Smash. It's called "End of Day". edit - The Japanese magazine "Famitsu" reviewed Brawl and gave it 40/40. Making Brawl only the 8th game to ever get a full score from them. Apparantly, Famitsu is a pretty important magazine in Japan. |
Sheik satisfies me, despite a f;ajf;jakfj;jf;fucking delayed release date.
|
Twilight Princess style Sheik!!! Zelda's the baddest bitch in Nintendo!
|
This now proves the Zelda is gonna put Princess Peach in her place in this game.

Pikmin & Olimar: Final Smash
End of Day Captain Olimar always makes sure to return to his spaceship before nightfall when he’s out exploring new planets. Why is that? That’s because night-time on these planets is absolutely teeming with scaaary wild beasts! To avoid an encounter with those creatures, Olimar takes to the safety of space during the night. So how could we represent this idea in Brawl...? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117a.jpg First things first. Get that Smash Ball! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117b.jpg There’s Olimar’s ship! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117c.jpg Blast off! The ship soars higher and higher into the stratosphere. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117d.jpg Stars fill the sky above. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117e.jpg Wild beasts everywhere! Aaaah! Characters left behind on the ground take lots and lots of damage. But dishing out damage alone won’t score you points. The more people in the brawl, the more damage you can expect this attack to do, but beware – another opponent may steal the KO you’ve worked so hard to set up. In a one-on-one match, this Final Smash won’t deal as much damage, but hey, there’s no worry that someone else will steal your KO, either. I guess you could call this balancing the gameplay, huh? http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...in_080117f.jpg The ship comes crashing back to the battlefield with a huge explosion! Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch someone in the blast? |
Sticker Power-ups
Your battle against the Subspace Emissary will be one of epic fury. Naturally, you’re going to want to do everything you can to strengthen each character for the fight ahead.
And that’s where stickers come into the picture! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118a.jpg These should do the trick. Did you think those stickers were just for collecting? Well, it seems you thought wrong! The truth is startling, huh? Each sticker houses a special power-up. For example, some will up your attack power, others bolster the damage from fire-based attacks, and some even keep you from flying as far when you take a hit. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118b.jpg You can find the details of each sticker’s power-up ability here. On the Map screen, select the Sticker option to move to the sticker-application screen. You can switch between characters with the L and R Buttons. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118c.jpg Here’s a shot of the underside of a trophy base. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118d.jpg Now slap down one of the sticky stickers you’ve collected. Generally speaking, the bigger the sticker, the more dramatic the power up. The more stickers you put on a trophy base, the more powerful that character becomes, but you’ll need to consider your placement and sticker choices carefully as space is limited. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118e.jpg Fill in those bare spots with little stickers... Leave no space unused! When two stickers offering a similar power-up are placed on a trophy base, only the more potent of the two power-ups will take effect. So, for example, if you had [Leg] Attack +4 and [Leg] Attack +6 stickers on the same trophy base, the added [Leg] Attack bonus wouldn’t be +10, it’d simply be treated as if you’d only put down the +6 sticker. You should always remember to maintain balance in your sticker selections. Also, some stickers can only be placed on certain characters. Stickers whose range of usage is limited in this fashion are proportionally stronger when placed appropriately. Do your best to find a good place for each sticker. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118f.jpg If you find placing down stickers yourself too much of a bother, just let the game do it for you by selecting Random. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118g.jpg Once you’re ready, apply all the stickers at once! You can adjust the position of stickers until you choose to apply them, but you can’t place stickers on top of each other, so you’ll occasionally need to remove old stickers to make space for new ones. Once you peel off a sticker you applied, you lose it for good! So take care when you lay down your stickers. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118h.jpg Stickers applied to a trophy base take on a grey tint. Also, for some reason, you’re able to readjust the position of an applied sticker on its trophy base. So while removed stickers are gone forever, you’ll be getting stickers left and right as you play – you’ll probably find that sticker you lost again. And, if you only use stickers you have doubles of, you’ll never lose one from your collection. Plus, as I’ve said before, the higher you set the difficulty in The Subspace Emissary, the better your chance of running across rare stickers. Going back to a previously-completed stage and cranking the difficulty up for a second run is a good way to round out your sticker collection. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118i.jpg If you retry a beaten stage, you can adjust the difficulty level. But if you should die and find yourself at the game over screen, be prepared to lose half the stickers you collected. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamem...12_080118j.jpg Nooo! What a waste of good stickers! Finally, remember that stickers are only of use within The Subspace Emissary. Sorry to say it, but they’ll be of no use to you in standard brawls. |
Sounds very interesting to me.
|
Ahhh, fuck them for delaying it again
|
Yeah, but only by 1 month. It's not all that bad.
I hate to repeat myself but at least the US has a date. |
I just sucks (kind of) for me because the release date is during my school finals :o
|
I hope Subspace Emissary is long enough to make the sticker thing worth the trouble.
Also, because huge adventure mode = Delight. |
Someone that's good at maths from another forum said, judging by the "3% clear" in the top right part of the second last screenshot in todays up, there is probably around about 33 level in Adventure mode.
I don't know how he figured it out because I'm useless at maths but I pointed out that maybe the 3% clear actually means just the level that is highlighted is 3% clear. Maybe by collecting stickers, trophies and defeating enemies in that level, the precentage for the level goes up. Either way SSE is going to be pretty long considering it was said it would take roughly 10 hours to go through. Although, they always exagerate the time. Remember they said Twilight Princess would take about 60 hours and almost everyone did it in about 11-15 hours. |
Wasn't the 60 hours estimate for TP for going through all the sidequests, item hunting, etc?
Because I got up to around 40 hours when I finished it :-\ |
Im gonna get this for my B-Day then

Is that some sort of joke...... |
Pretty sure it was. We'll get Brawl in the summer at the latest. Some places say Q2, GAME says May and the latest issue of Official Nintendo Magazine says summer 2008. I'm hoping it'll be April/May but you know how long Nintendo take to give us anything in the UK so summer seems the most likely to me.

nah I'm gettin it march 9th

Zelda: Final Smash
Light Arrow In the final battles of many of the games in The Legend of Zelda series, you didn’t want to be low on arrows. A lot of times they were Silver Arrows, though... Zelda’s ace in the hole is the magical Light Arrow, which you can use even as Sheik. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121a.jpg Ready for the Final Smash! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121b.jpg Draw the bow tight... http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121c.jpg Fire! A beam of light pierces your enemy. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121d.jpg Your enemy is blown away by a tremendous force! When you’re using Sheik, some of the characteristics of the attack will change, like the direction your opponent gets knocked in. It’s good to use the character whose attack is best suited to the cover on each stage, but you probably shouldn’t worry TOO much about that. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/chara...da_080121e.jpg After all, once they’re hit, they’re pretty much done for. If you’re just playing one-on-one though, the Light Arrow might be easy to dodge. Try to create a situation where you have a good shot. |
Nintendo leak 3 characters.
Nintendo leaked 3 characters in the 5 minute Japanese trailer I posted above.
At 4:20, when it shows you the sticker album, if you pause it and look at the botton right corner it shows the faces of the characters the sticker is for. One of the stickers gives away *Character spoilers. highlight to read* Jigglypuff and Lucario are in. Then, if you pause at 4:21, it shows that *More characters spoilers* Ness is back. *end spoilers* |
I don;t see what your talkin about
|
Apparently, Nintendo edited out alot of the original videos.
If you believe this whole mess--and it's the Smash Brothers community, so I'm not entirely positive that I do yet--then that video right there is the original. When it shows the sticker album at 4:20 and 4:21, and different stickers are highlighted, you can distinctly see tiny face icons in the white bar beneath the book. These faces are supposed to represent characters that the stickers are attached to. Again, it's Smash Bros fans, who are notorious for faking and/or misinterpreting shit like this. If you buy the whole story, though, then the face icons for Jiggs, Ness, and Lucario are visibe. The YouTube's so fucking blurry that I can't tell jack from jack shit, but I guess I'll take everyone's word for it. |
On second glance, the Ness and Jiggs faces are very, very distinct. Especially Jiggs. I wouldn't be surprised if that were someone's face besides Ness's, but that's 100% Jigglypuff right there. The Lucario, I'm still not too sure about.
Again, that's assuming this is totally legit. The "Nintendo edited out the videos real fast" story is hilarious, whether it's true or not. |
What the hell is Lucario?
|
|
To be fair, alot of people do want it in. I just disagree with its inclusion if they're ditching Mewtwo for it.
|
Meh. Pokemon past #151 are lame.
|
For the most part, yeah. I don't honestly know what the hype's about.

Screen captures of the video.

Manaphy
It’s Manaphy! This Pokémon also appeared in a film. This Manaphy is quite different from the other Pokémon that appear in this game. So much so that you’ll think, is this even possible?! Or words to that effect. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122b.jpg It appears from the Poké Ball! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122c.jpg Heart Swaaaaaaaaap! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122d.jpg ......... Nothing happened...? No. That is not so. Why, Zelda and DK have switched bodies! Wait... You mean, I’m her, and she’s me?! http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122e.jpg AAAUUUGGGHHH! You have to fight as your opponent for a while! They say it’s good to know your enemy. But you haven’t really swapped places, so if you jump off the edge, it counts as a self-destruct for you. And your damage meter remains as it was. http://www.smashbros.com/en_uk/items...09_080122f.jpg After a certain amount of time, you go back to normal. Phew. Good. Things always seem to end well in this game, don’t they? |
