Remember when top stars were tag champs, now all the top stars just compete for the championship belt. when was the last time Cena, or Orton was tag team champs. Now its just mid card wrestlers. The Rock and Mankind were top stars and still competing for the tag belts. I miss the attitude era!!

I'd say Team Hell No are both pretty big stars and they were both the Tag Team Champions. Dont forget Cena and the Miz having the belt for like 10 minutes a few years back.

Two top stars teaming to win the belts is the worst. Really shits on the guys that are legit tag teams.

Didn't HBK and Cena win the tag belts together leading to WM23? That was terrible. The match was good, but that tag business was crap.

Didn't Cena win the tag belts with someone else he was feuding with too? Maybe even Orton?

Edge/Orton was the last 'main event' tag combo that didn't seem thrown together for two weeks before a PPV to kill tv time and make us all wait for the inevitable disintegration to ensue as they lost the titles. And that's pretty much all it ever is.

Feel like if the current champs were Orton and Kane or Kane and Big show or Big Show and Mizark this same person would be complaining about the middle carders getting buried.

Rated RKO was about the only throw together team I liked. Otherwise not a fan of it.

Back before the "Bad News" makeover, I wanted to Wade Barrett form a team with Alberto Del Rio. It would have been simple: Alberto Del Rio has money and wants to be a champion, Wade Barrett wants money and wants to be a champion. As heels, I think they would have clicked well. Del Rio was golden in the ring and good on the mic, whilst Barrett was good in the ring and golden on the mic. Give them a run with the belts for a few months and then have Del Rio turn on Barrett and let Barrett go over him at a PPV as a freshly turned face.

He won the RAW-exclusive World belts one other time, with Batista.

Also, Cena and Miz won the titles 2-3 years back before almost immediately losing them to The Corre's Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel literally minutes later.

He didn't win the belts with Orton but that shit was awful anyway. Remember when they beat the Spirit Squad or Nexus (don't remember which was that, there were more than two opponents for sure) and Cena gave some terrible speech to Randy Orton how he proved to the fans that he can be a good man and some stupid shit like that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was. Weird to think that there was a time not so long ago when Orton was seen legit as Cena in the ring and not just a whiny little bitch.

Also, screw thrown together "main event" tag-teams. Outside rare exceptions like Rated RKO, Jerishow and Team Hell No they always suck and never accomplish anything other than burying real teams and beating on the still warm corpse of the tag-team division.

Yeah, some thrown together main event tag teams have been cool but I'd rather see them try to build up the next Road Warrior/Steiner Brothers tag team that's two guys who are practically main eventers AS tag team stars. Though you'd need enough legit singles stars to resist the temptation to split them up as soon as they reach that level and make more singles main eventers instead.

Not sure if the Ascension will qualify as that, but they might.

Top stars as tag team champions usually doesn't work. They usually just lose it quickly after their main title match feud. They usually also kill the momentum of a great team to do this.
