2nd/3rd/etc Gen wrestlers who were the best in their family.

Which wrestlers either current or past were considered the best from their families?

Not counting relatives or family branches that are connected to other wrestling families (ex. The Rock with Anoa'i family). Also would allow the idea of a current wrestler being considered the family's best based on future potential if their career is relatively young (ex. Bray being the best Rotunda).

whiteyford 04-20-2014 03:04 PM

Dean Malenko, Curt Hennig, Eddie Guerrero, Bret Hart.

Bad News Gertner 04-20-2014 03:28 PM

Randy Orton

Bad News Gertner 04-20-2014 03:29 PM

Ted DiBiase Sr is second Gen and was the best

Heisenberg 04-20-2014 04:05 PM

Carlito > all the other Colons

DaveWadding 04-20-2014 04:15 PM

Jake Roberts

Lock Jaw 04-20-2014 04:15 PM

Bo Dallas is the best

Wishbone 04-20-2014 04:56 PM

Randy Orton is the best Orton, but that's not saying much IMO.

Bray is the best of his family if he lives up to his potential.

Carlito is the best Colon.

Gotta agree with Whiteyford on his picks too I suppose.

Bray's better, but Bo isn't terrible anymore.

Vastardikai 04-20-2014 05:35 PM

Barry Windham
Brad Armstrong
The Rock (duh)
Terry Funk
David Sammartino :shifty:

Cowboy Bob Orton jr was fantastic. I disagree, Carlos Colon is a legend.

I think it's a toss up between Terry and Dory Jr. Two different styles. Bullet Bob Armstrong was better than Brad. Heck, Road Dogg was better. Brad had zero charisma.

Vastardikai 04-20-2014 05:57 PM

I was torn between Brad and Jesse James. Brad was the better worker, Jesse James the more charismatic.

Cool King 04-20-2014 06:02 PM

Am I the only guy that preferred Owen when it came to The Harts?

I've always thought Owen was the better brother.

whiteyford 04-20-2014 06:09 PM

He never made it as big, I guess that's why Bret usually gets the nod.

Shisen Kopf 04-20-2014 07:08 PM

Shane was a better rassler than Vince

And I disagree as well. Being a "legend" doesn't mean shit these days.

As for Cowboy Bob, to each their own I guess. I haven't seen much, but what I have is "alright" at best.

That's actually kinda true... Vince is still the better character though.

Cowboy Bob was a fantastic heel in the 80's and a very good worker. Just kinda got lost in the shuffle with Paul Orndorff and Piper being mega heels.

#1-norm-fan 04-21-2014 07:31 AM

What about the Poffo Family?

... Clearly Lanny was the best.

Jura 04-21-2014 09:37 AM

Stephanie McMahon

DAMN iNATOR 04-23-2014 07:55 PM

Orton and Rock are the first two that immediately come to mind. Not sure about 2nd Generation or other 3rd Generation guys, although I'm quite sure there are many more.

Shisen Kopf 04-23-2014 08:19 PM

Usos better than Rikishi

Vastardikai 04-23-2014 09:48 PM

Also, Eddie Guerrero and Finlay.

And since OP mentioned the Rock doesn't count due to his being part of two separate families (The Johnsons and Miavias), then neither should Bray Wyatt, as he's part of both the Rotunda and Windham families.

MoFo 04-24-2014 05:31 AM

Jeff Jarrett
Kerry Von Erich

MoFo 04-24-2014 05:32 AM

Goldust as well IMO

Hate Dusty

Brigstocke 04-24-2014 10:51 AM

Paige seems to have been forgotten here... More proof to the point that women in wrestling are worthless.

whiteyford 04-24-2014 10:54 AM

I just heard her brother was better, no idea who he is off the top of my head.

Brigstocke 04-24-2014 11:00 AM

Hes not famous... he was knocked back by WWE on a documentary on UK TV a couple of years ago (When Paige was signed) because he wasnt in good condition.

Natalya is probably a better worker than her dad too...but alas dosent matter.

Another one though that I could be wrong on....Rene Dupree... almost certain his father was a terrible wrestler called Emily or Emilio or something similar?

whiteyford 04-24-2014 11:53 AM

Heard he's improved but still don't care enough to look him up.

Yeah he's 2nd generation at least, suppose you could argue some of the Vachons as well.

Seth82 04-24-2014 03:26 PM

to call Bray and Bo better than their dad or uncle Barry Windham is laughable.

Mike Rotundo was a damn good worker in the 80's prior to WWF syndrome setting in during his IRS days.

Barry in his prime in the 80s was absolutely awesome. His matches with Flair were amazing to see.

Carlito doesn't come close at all to being better than his dad. Carlos was the fucking man in Puerto Rico.

Cowboy Bob Orton was a fantastic worker in the 80's. Shit even his stuff in the early 90's for Herb Abrams UWF wasn't half bad.

Brad Armstrong was just amazingly talented in the ring. It's too bad he lacked the charisma and mic skills. He could've been as big a star as Road Dogg.

Eddie Gilbert was far superior to his father Tommy. Tommy didn't have any of the charisma that his son had. Eddie was just awesome to watch as a heel.

Vastardikai 04-24-2014 10:45 PM

And, to be fair: IRS did much better than anyone with an "Evil Tax Accountant" gimmick had any right to do. I didn't even understand taxes back then, and IRS was such an overbearing jerk that I HAD to hate him.

And c'mon: Evil Tax Accountant is much better than "Captain" Mike Rotunda (as in Captain of a Yacht, he was similarly awesome as the head of the Varsity Club.)

Swiss Ultimate 04-25-2014 12:00 AM

Carlito would be really good right now if he had stayed through his awkward phase.
