Okay, just for the hell of it, I did a quick pass at booking the whole Rumble. Feel free to praise or tear apart however you see fit:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We get the usual hype from Justin Roberts about the rules and an introduction to the match. And now, for the superstar who drew #1... John Morrison is the first man out to a huge pop. He gets to do his full-on slow-mo entrance, then enters and awaits the arrival of #2... Alberto Del Rio, who comes out in another classic car and takes his sweet time getting to the ring, drawing huge heat. The bell sounds and we get “two minutes” of solid work between the two (of course, two minutes of Rumble time doesn't always correspond to five minutes of real time) until the countdown hits and our third entrant is Evan Bourne. The high-flying excitement continues for two minutes with no eliminations until Rey Mysterio's music hits. The crowd pops big for the masked superstar, who goes right after Del Rio (even though this week's SmackDown! Match is billed as the end of their rivalry, but we know it's not). The first big man in the match is Sheamus, who has drawn #5.

Sheamus makes a bee-line for Morrison, but Bourne cuts him off. He attempts one of his trademark kicks, but Sheamus just swats him away then throws him to the floor for the first elimination. He and Morrison then begin to brawl while Mysterio and Del Rio keep fighting. Entry #6 is Ezekiel Jackson, who shrugs off Del Rio when he attempts to attack him. He goes for the other big dog in the match so he and Sheamus go at it while Morrison recovers. We get another big man at #7 as Tyler Reks comes out and he goes after Zeke. The big men from SmackDown make the mistake of fighting near the ropes, allowing Del Rio to slip in behind them and dump them both to the floor. We go back to our pair of singles matches for a bit until Alex Riley comes out and goes right after his mentor's rival Morrison, only to get quickly dumped to the floor, winning this year's Bushwhacker Luke award. While Riley jaws with Morrison, Sheamus slips up behind him and eliminates him. Sheamus then turns his attention to Mysterio, and he and Del Rio double-team him. “Ride of the Valkyries” hits the speakers next and out comes the United States Champion Daniel Bryan. Bryan helps out Mysterio by going after Del Rio. A couple minutes of solid action until the Nexus theme hits, bringing out Heath Slater.

Slater goes right after Bryan, his former (very briefly) Nexus stablemate, which lets Del Rio – who has now been in the ring for over fifteen minutes – catch his breath. Justin Gabriel draws #11, and he helps Slater work on Bryan, who is starting to succumb to the numbers game. In a remarkable coincidence, #12 is David Otunga. It's now three-on-one on Bryan, while Rey continues to valiantly take on Sheamus. Del Rio is basically laying around in the corner, watching all the action with a smug grin on his face. #13 is Husky Harris and now the announcers are speculating that CM Punk has somehow tampered with the random draw to fill the ring with his Nexus. Finally, Bryan can no longer put up with the four-on-one attack and is eliminated. Rey Mysterio looks around the ring and realizes it's him and six heels, which doesn't bode well. The countdown reaches zero, and Rey finally gets some relief as The Big Show is the fourteenth entrant. The Nexus members foolishly go after him, and Harris gets taken out quickly. Heath Slater is Show's next victim, taking a knockout punch that sends him to the floor. Gabriel and Otunga eat a double chokeslam, and the World's Largest Athlete is rolling.

Santino Marella is out next as the #15 entry, meaning we've now seen half of our entrants. He does some comedy bits with Big Show, who chokeslams Gabriel again. Santino tries to chokeslam Otunga, but can't get him off the ground. Show finally gets hold of Del Rio and delivers a knockout punch. Santino smiles and decides to hit Otunga with the Cobra. He does his trombone dance, but then gets dumped out by Sheamus. As Santino is throwing a fit on the floor, Vladimir Kozlov's music hits. More comedy with Santino as he whines to Kozlov about what just happened. Kozlov slides into the ring and goes right after Sheamus, and the giants battle while Show finally dumps Otunga to the floor. Now it's Sheamus vs. Kozlov, Show vs. Gabriel, and Del Rio vs. Mysterio. As the countdown reaches zero, the ramp is engulfed in flames as Kane makes his entrance. He goes right after Del Rio and Mysterio, eliminating them both, ending Del Rio's 30-minute run and Rey's 25+. Big Show takes Gabriel out shortly thereafter, leaving a quartet of giants to hold court in the ring. The Nexus theme hits for the fifth time in the Rumble match, and Michael McGillicutty comes out as the 18th entrant. The Nexus rookie realizes he's outsized and outclassed by the monsters and decides to stick and move. Unfortunately, he quickly gets stuck by a Brogue Kick. Kozlov then pulls him to his feet and blasts him with a big headbutt. Kane seems to be deriving a sick pleasure from his, as he hits McGillicutty with a chokeslam. Big Show pulls him up now and sets him against the ropes and hits his “hush” chop, sending McGillicutty to the floor, ending the abuse. The announcers hype the fact that Big Show has now eliminated five members of the Nexus!

The horn sounds for #19, and it's Ted DiBiase. DiBiase takes a look into the ring and decides to stay on the floor. He has a cocky grin on his face, but the monsters don't seem to notice as they go back to fighting each other for the two minutes it takes until it's time for #20. DiBiase's music hits again, and his massive NXT rookie Brodus Clay comes down to join his benefactor. That's why Ted looked so smug. He must have bought off whoever actually drew #20 to get some backup into the match. The duo enters the ring and DiBiase starts calling the shots. Clay takes a shot at Kozlov and lays him out, but when he goes after Big Show, the giant goes to throw a knockout punch. Clay catches the punch, and the announcers shit themselves. Unfortunately for Clay, Show has two hands, and he merely uses his other one to grab Clay by the throat and push him to the floor. DiBiase realizes he's screwed as he looks at the angry Big Show and dives over the top rope, following his rookie and sparing himself a beating. We're back to Sheamus, Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, and Kane. Eventually, Kane manages to get the better of Kozlov, sending the Moscow Mauler to the floor. #21 is “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, who comes out to big heat. He gets into Big Show's face. Show lines up for a knockout punch, but Rhodes catches him with a low blow – perfectly legal in a Rumble – then hits him with a Beautiful Disaster kick, which sends Show reeling toward the ropes. A dropkick later, and Big Show is gone! Rhodes celebrates for a moment, only to eat a big boot from Kane, knocking him to the floor. It's now just Sheamus and Kane, standing nose-to-nose.

Suddenly, the lights in the arena go out and ominous chants play over the loudspeakers. Kane stops fighting with Sheamus and looks up the ramp at a dark figure in a robe and hat. He walks slowly toward the ring while Kane continues to gawk. Sheamus takes advantage of the distraction and eliminates the Big Red Monster. Kane begins tearing things up at ringside as the Undertaker continues to the ring. He raises his arm to raise the lights, but something's wrong. That's not Undertaker... that's... Wade Barrett?!? The former Nexus leader glares down at Kane while giving Sheamus a knowing look. He extends his hand, only to eat a Brogue Kick. Sheamus eliminates Barrett, and now he has the ring entirely to himself, which is good because he's been in there for more than 35 minutes and needs a chance to catch his breath. The announcers hype Sheamus' performance as one of the most dominant in Rumble history. Can anybody stop him?

“Time to play The Game...” The crowd absolutely erupts as Triple H steps out onto the ramp, posing and eating up the attention. Sheamus is shocked that he was unable to actually end H's career, but he's definitely ready for him, and they waste no time in throwing punches. Drew McIntyre is the 24th entry into the match. He mostly keeps his distance and lets the two rivals go at it for a while, occasionally taking potshots at Triple H. It continues this way until Jack Swagger enters at #25. The All-American American doesn't take Drew Mac's example, and tries to interject himself into the Triple H-Sheamus battle, only to be eliminated by the rivals, who then go right back after each other. R-Truth is #26, and the announcers are hyping that Sheamus has now been in the Rumble for over forty minutes, a remarkable feat for someone his size. Truth and McIntyre begin to go at it, and the match basically stays that way until Christian joins the match as #27.

Only three men remain in the back, but there are five in the ring now, and the crowd is starting to reach a fever pitch. We all know Christian is injured and isn't really in any shape to compete, but the Rumble match helps hide that fact as he basically hangs back and lets the other four go at it. #28 is Mark Henry, who takes McIntyre out immediately. Christian is Henry's next victim, and the World's Strongest Man looks dominant!

The 29th entry is CM Punk, who comes out to the ring with a microphone, basically monologuing like a comic book supervillain about how the pieces are falling into place blah blah blah and by winning the Royal Rumble, Nexus is going to get what it's been after all along – the WWE Championship. He starts to climb up onto the apron, but thinks better of it and hops back down and continues to rant, riling up the Superstars still in the ring. The lucky man who drew #30 is Kofi Kingston, which gets one more huge pop. The announcers hype that Kofi is SmackDown's last hope for the Rumble, while continuing to play up the story of how Sheamus has now been in the match for 50 minutes, something that should be impossible.

Kofi and Truth exchange some high-flying moves before Kofi sends Truth packing. Sheamus takes out Mark Henry next, and we're down to our final four! It's Sheamus vs. Triple H vs. CM Punk vs. Kofi Kingston! One of these four men will be going to the main event of WrestleMania! Sheamus and Triple H have now been battling for over fifteen minutes, and as we're nearing the end of the match, they trade near-misses on their finishers until Sheamus sets up for the High Cross. Trips backdrops him over the top, but Sheamus lands on his feet on the apron, and they continue to fight until Punk slips up behind Hunter and knocks both men to the floor! That's not the end, though, as they continue to fight up the ramp and out of sight. It's now RAW's CM Punk against SmackDown's Kofi Kingston, and they put on an exciting exhibition for several minutes (since they're both relatively fresh, having come in as the last two – a Rumble first) before Punk reverses the SOS into the GTS and dumps Kofi's lifeless body to the floor. Nexus comes to the ring to stand tall with their leader as the pay-per-view comes to a close with the announcers railing against having a straight-edge Mania.
