Flex game for Week Fifteen still up in air
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 6, 2011, 5:08 PM EST

There’s a battle brewing over what network gets to air the Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady Week Fifteen matchup in Denver.

The game between the Broncos and Patriots is a logical choice to be flexed into NBC’s Sunday Night matchup where the Ravens and Chargers are currently slated to face off. There aren’t any other particularly good options that week.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that CBS and Patriots owner Robert Kraft are both fighting to keep the game in the late afternoon time slot.

The Patriots probably don’t want to take a later flight out of Denver. Kraft also has a business relationship with CBS, who owns a restaurant at Patriot Place in Foxborough.

It was clear even before Klis’ report that some jockeying was going on. The flex schedule changes are usually announced by this point in the week, often on Monday.

We’d expect some word to come down from the league and the networks sometime Tuesday. The league guarantees that plans will be announced at least 13 days before the game.
