The next Xbox and PS4 could be a lot more expensive than people expect due to Epic Games wanting "bleeding edge" technology as the top priority for both consoles.
Epic Games believes the potential losses and costs for these consoles can easily be subsidize by the software.

The studio also hinted if it doesn't occur, Apple will be getting a lot more support from the company.

It was also implied they would prefer if the console market shifted a bit more towards Apple's iPad style than keeping the traditional long life cycle.
Epic Games previously was very influential in the development of the Xbox 360 with their main contributions being the advantage in RAM and better GPU than what the PS3 contained. The studio is also rumored to be once again providing some suggestions towards the development of the next Xbox.
