It peaked with the phenomenon we know as The Green Ranger. The gold neck piece, the sword, the big godzilla vehicle. Everything.

Then Power Rangers suddenly got lame. I think it jumped the shark around the time of the movie, and the White Ranger.
That's when it stopped being as in demand, got overexposed, and became a playground laughing stock. I'm pretty sure everyone I knew called it the Chowder Rangers in 3rd grade.
I remember seeing the Green Ranger/Dragonzord pack in a toy store once for north of $90 and weeping at the fact that I couldn't have it.
