Come to think, if the Mets want to go the veteran catcher route - I'd go with Pudge. He's still respectable against lefties and even at his age there is no better guy to have mentor a young catcher and help a pitching staff. He'd probably get just as much playing time as he'd get elsewhere at this point, which is probably important to him if he wants to have any shot at reaching 3,000 hits.
