The only two things that I can come up for Jin are either:
1. He's gonna be dead. We've seen in the past what the writers do to those who had run-ins with the law.
2. This might be a bit of a wild idea. But, what if Jin's flasbacks are really flashforwards? Sure he worked for Sun dad pre-crash. But Sun's father is tied up with the mob over there or something? For all we know, he could have went back to work for him after getting off the Island and went underground.
