Touch screens themselves aren't all that expensive. In fact, they're not expensive at all. It's devices that have touch screens that cost a lot. That's not a factor at all.

Doesn't seem all that difficult to me to take a Wiimote and a scaled down DS (without the top screen) and fuse them into a single controller that can be used several ways. Still simple (how hard is it to use a touch screen on what would presumably just be a new Wiimote?), with new funtionality. Trivia game buzzers, radar for FPS games, extra options for super in depth RPGs, virtual pets, individual minigames the possibilities are endless.

I didn't say they'd take back the hardcore market, just that they could allow for more games of that ilk.

And yeah, it's all speculation at this point, but I'm just saying that if that's the case, this is what they could potentially do. A man can dream, can't he?
