Why the fuck does it matter what it's called? If it breeds good matches, you could call it the Dog Shit Championship of Oprah's Buttcrack, and it wouldn't matter. You guys are nitpicky as fuck, considering this is pro wrestling.

Besides, like Destor said, it's named as such because of the WWE UNIVERSE. A brand that clearly isn't going anywhere.
