Based on some reports and Nintendo's own schedule for their current fiscal year, the next Nintendo console won't be making a surprise late 2011 launch and the console itself won't have 3D ability although the controller could still have some sort of 3D capability.
The earliest launch date for the next console could also arrive at the same time as the rumored GTA V release date (between April to June 2012) so its possible GTA V could be a launch title.

Another rumor has E3 being about 60% 3DS stuff, 20-30% next console stuff, and the rest for Wii games.
