Terry Funk is one of the greatest all-round performers in the history of the industry. Bob Backlund is not everybody's cup of tea, but I can understand the appeal. He did a few things VERY well. But he still feels shoe-horned into that era as an unnecessary change from Billy Graham, if just because of that promise that Vince, Sr. made. Graham was so heavy into drugs by the end of his run. In hindsight, it was the right move. Graham was becoming very unstable and unreliable.
