I really have a hard time caring about these things or seeing anybody but the NCAA in some variety of bad light when these athletes should essentially be paid (maybe not quite so highly given the variables and probably more along the lines of being "reimbursed" once they're finished playing football for that school except for maybe "living expenses") like professional athletes with what they bring to their respective schools. I'm all for these guys getting as much money and as many perks as they can. Throw the book at them for prostitutes, drugs, gambling and the like but to hell with the NCAA when it comes to them receiving money, gifts and so forth. I mean, this is a whole new level and is a pretty huge yet not surprising story but when they go after some kid that sold his own game worn jersey for not much money and so forth, it's hard to have any kind of respect for them or their ridiculous rules.
