I think either Deb or Rita will catch Dexter in the act of killing Trinity. He knows Dexter's name, but he doesn't know who he is (killer), and that despite the police suspecting the wrong man, Dexter knows everything. To Trinity, Dexter may still look like he has suspicions, but he is just a dirty cop who wants a payday for the pedophilia.

This could lead to Trinity going to Dexter's home and it would be appropriate since Dexter has spent so much time in Trinity's. My problem with this theory is that I don't think Rita could stomach knowing what Dexter is, but Deb might be able to. Even if she doesn't know the whole picture, she might overlook him killing Trinity because of Lundy. Dunno, probably way off.
