I *think* Req means that Trinity seemed so together, with all his kills considered and planned. In the first few episodes, he seemed so cold. But then as we learn more, especially the episode he kidnaps the kid, we find that he's totally and utterly bat shit crazy. I think the original impression we got of Trinity was that he was a cold blooded mother fucker who killed because he could.

Mind you, I suppose it works, because it shows that while he has a cold exterior on the outside, we can see how Dexter can actually infiltrate Trinity's family and get to the real man.
