Nah, 7 seems to have been about average for a while now, 8 if you count the Pre-Show Kickoff match. Was 8 for a while like 2002-??, but then got knocked down to 7.

Some WM cards just get an insane amount of matches to fill 4 hours...think x8 had like, 12 officially (without counting the HC title shenanigans).
